Eventually Merlin arrived and checked over my wounds, not only was she my potions teacher but she was also a nurse and a well known one at that.
"There, you should probably get some rest..." She spoke firmly while tightening the bandage around my arm.
"Thanks..." I rasped as I sat on the couch, all eyes were on me. There was a sudden tightness in my chest as I realised something. "I don't think I should stay here anymore...he knows were I live...I'm not safe." I felt scared as I kept my eyes on the grey carpet.
Helbram got up and came over to sit next to me. "You could stay at my place." He offered softly.
"No, you live right next door and I really don't wanna put you at risk."
Marcus quickly stepped forward. "What about my place? You could sleep in my bed while I take the couch." He smiled thoughtfully as I took a second to think about it. Meanwhile Derieri was giving him a smack around the head for not asked her first.
I nodded while looking at Derieri and Monspeet. "If that's okay with you guys." I asked cautiously. Derieri sighed.
"Of course you can stay at our place. I'd much rather you be safe than at risk. Bottom line is, I can't say no."
I smiled happily. "Thanks, Aunty Derieri!"
She chocked on her own spit. "Huh!?" She yelled out confused.
"Well...I've always seen you as an Aunt. It's not weird is it...me calling you that?" I asked while blushing.
She was blushing too. "No! It's fine! Really it just caught me off guard."
Marcus cleared his throat. "Okay...so Melody's staying at our place, then?"
"Yes...it was already decided." Helbram mumbled frustrated.
Marcus sighed and lightly punched his bro on the shoulder. "Her safety is my top priority, man. I don't wanna ruin either one of our friendships. Besides...she loves you and you love her, so as long as she's happy then I am too." He whispered into Helbram's ear so no one could hear. But I heard.
"HEY! You can't decide these things without asking me first!" Uncle Zeldris suddenly piped up, startling me for a second. "She's safe with me!"
Meliodas glared at him. "No-"
I put my hand up and stopped him from speaking. "You have NO right to talk about caring! A man who abandons his daughter for more money should just keep his mouth shut!" I snapped angrily at him.
He closed his mouth.
"Melody, maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on your father...he's trying his best." My grandfather spoke firmly to me. I scoffed.
"No."

There was a long, awkward period of silence.
"I'll go get some stuff together I guess." I said quickly and left to go upstairs to my room.-------------------------------------
After arriving at Marcus's place, Melody had instantly dumped her stuff up stairs in his room and laid down on his bed.
"I see you've already made yourself at home." He frowned as he looked at her bandages and scrapes. "Do they hurt?" He asked softly and sat down on the bed; running his hand through her lush golden hair that was spread over the sheets.
She chuckled lightly. "Nah, I'm just still stunned. Everything's just happened so quickly that my mind is still trying to catch up. They just left me spiraling!"
Marcus nodded and laid down next to her. "I'm going to be downstairs tonight, so if you need anything, just text me. Alright?" He said slowly, Melody nodded.
"Will do."
There was a loud bang from downstairs. "FUCK! UM! I GUESS DINNERS READY!" Derieri yelled from the kitchen.
He visibly sweat dropped.
"Let's go, she'll kill me if we don't show up within a minute and Just between you and me, her cooking is shit." He whispered, causing both of us to burst out laughing."OI! MARCUS!"
"Shit!" He cussed, shooting up and grabbing my hand. "Let's go."

I was laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling sadly. It felt strange sleeping in another boys bed, being choked by his scent with each breath. I knew that Marcus liked me, but I also knew that he cared more about our friendship than a relationship. He respected me and I respected him. He's a good friend.
I heard the floorboards creaking and then the door opened. "Hey! Melody! Are you awake?" Marcus whisper yelled to me.
"Yea!" I said back.
"I got your text, what's wrong?" He asked with concern.
I sat up. "Can you please stay in the room....just for the night. Keep me company. I really don't feel safe at the moment." I shivered slightly from the cold.
"Of course." He smiled and came over to me, getting under the covers, but I just looked at him strangely, "what?" He asked.
"Uh...I know this is your bed, but it feels wrong to sleep next to you. Even as friends," I said with discomfort, causing him to immediately jump up and rub the back of his head nervously.
"I am so so so so sorry, I should've assumed since you're with Helbram now that that would obviously be weird...I suppose we're not kids anymore, huh??" He rushed out, extremely flustered and embarrassed.
I waved him off with a strained smile, "it's alright, I know that he asked you to look after me...I uh...just...yeah..." I trailed off before shutting myself up.
We just looked at each other and smiled awkwardly before saying goodnight to each other and taking our assumed positions.
Marcus slept on the floor that night.
I felt guilty for it.
