- Melody Pov -

The bell rang, telling everyone they could go home now. I sighed and closed my locker. I walked out of the building and over to the car park, my uncle was waiting for me in his car.

I smiled at him as I opened the door and got in. "How was school?" He asked me softly and began to reverse.

I checked my phone before answering. "It was pretty average." I responded plainly. He gave me that look he always does when I'm not telling him the truth. I groaned. "Fine. When I meant average, I meant it was shit, okay?"

He nodded. "Wanna tell me about it?"

I looked out the window sadly.
"Just dumb people with their dumb friends saying and doing dumb shit."

He sighed and glanced over at me for a split second; I turned to listen to him."Look." He paused. "People are dumb, mainly humans, They all suck equally, so don't worry about them okay?...They're assholes."

I looked back out the window again. "It's not about how they act...it's what they're saying and the context of their words...I...I can't stand people talking about Helbram like he's already dead...I can't face the fact that he might never wake up. He protected me and I could do nothing to help him." I felt my heart break again. "I-I...I did nothing to stop him from leaving." I stuttered, trying not to give away the fact that I was on the verge of tears.

Uncle Zel suddenly stopped the car; parking on the side of the curb. I looked at him with fear as he stared at me intensely.
"This is not your fault, Melody." He said firmly. "He chose to protect you. He's still alive because you told me to call an ambulance. Understand?"

I nodded as he put his hand on my shoulder. "You need to be strong...for him." He smiled and brushed a tear away with his thumb.

"Okay."

- Time skip: 20 mins -

I sighed as I got out of the car and walked into the large building; Uncle Zel right beside me with a soft smile on his face. We took the elevator to the top floor and walked to Helbram's room.
I felt increasingly nervous being near so many doctors due to my current (and almost noticeable) condition.

"Are you ready to go in?" He asked me.  I nodded.

"Yea, but first I need to wait for someone to get here." I answered while pulling out my phone and messaging Zenita again.

Uncle Zeldris looked over at me, then at my phone and out of pure interest edged closer. "So who are you messaging?" He asked while glancing at the name at the top. "Zenita? Who's that?" He was really curious now.

I visibly sweat dropped.
"Uuuuuh...ummm...just a new friend of mine, she said she wanted to come here to see how I was going because she also knows Helbram." I lied. But it wasn't entirely false. Zenita was partially coming to support me, but she also wanted to meet Uncle Zel.

He relaxed. "Oh okay, that's nice of her to come here. She must be a really nice girl." I smiled at his subtle praise.

"She is."

My phone suddenly dinged. "Oh...She's here" I smiled as I looked down the corridor and saw my cousin waving at me.

"melody!" She called out and started jogging over to me.

"Zenita!" I called out her name too as she came over to me and we embraced. "Thank you for coming." I smiled kindly to her.

She pulled out of the hug. "It's no trouble, really. My mum said it was okay, by the way she should be here soon."

I paled. "You...brought your mum with you?" I asked.

She nodded slowly. "Yes? Why wouldn't I?"

I face palmed. "It's okay, who cares. "I brushed it off and stood back so I could introduce them. "Uncle Zeldris meet Zenita, Zenita meet my uncle Zeldris. Now that you two have met...I can go and sit down." I awkwardly introduced them and then went and sat down. Uncle Zel looked at Zenita with a strange gaze, almost like he was studying her or something. I could tell she was sweating profusely from how nervous she was.

"You look familiar, I think I met you you before right after Melody got kidnapped." He stated simply. "But I never really looked at your face until now. You really do look a lot like someone I used to know very well...in fact you even smell like her." He said slowly.

"Yeah? What was her name?" She pried, desperately awaiting his answer.

He stopped for a second. His face went pale with realisation. "No...It can't be." He Denied.

"But it is." Answered a woman who had just randomly appeared out of nowhere.

"Mother." Zenita whispered.

Uncle Zeldris went stiff, his back was to the woman, but he seemed to recognise her voice with ease. "G-Gelda?" He stuttered with tears in his eyes.

She smiled warmly. "In the flesh."
He whipped around and came face to face with her.

Tears were tumbling down his cheeks like waterfalls. An angry expression found its way onto his face. "Why? Why did you leave me without saying a word!?  And since when did you have a daughter!?" He yelled at her. "Were you pregnant when you left!? Why didn't you say anything!?" She simply shook her head and cupped his cheek.

"Because I didn't think you were ready to become a father yet."
