- Helbram Pov -
So I stayed with Zeldris for a while after my parents and the others left to go get more info on Mael. I felt like shit because I knew I couldn't do anything to help her. None of us knew where she was and it was terrifying me.
"Hey...um..." I awkwardly tried to start a conversation, but he just remained with his head in his hands on the other couch. I sighed, tapping my foot and looking anywhere but him. "Just so you know I'm going to kill the guy who hurt her...and if I go to jail...well...it'll be worth it." My bangs were covering my eyes as I got super serious to try and match his energy so it wouldn't be as awkward. I wanted him to know how much I cared about her. She may not remember anything from our shared past, but I sure do. I made sure to keep those memories at heart so I could give them back to her when she was ready. Because I loved her.
Zeldris lifted his head; his hair was all messed up and it kinda looked weird, like Meliodas' hair almost. "..." He made no comment about what I had just said and instead got up and walked to the kitchen. "Want a beer?" He asked.
I was very interested. "What kind?" I pried respectfully.
"Beer."
"Uh, yeah, thanks." I looked at him with confusion as he tossed me a cold one. "I see why beer was invented." I chuckled nervously and opened it.
"Yeah, why?" He opened one himself. Zeldris looked like he hadn't slept all night and to be honest neither had I.
I looked down sorrowfully. "The alcohol helps you to forgot about your pain, even if it's just for a bit. I don't drink much, my parents would be furious if they found out I went to a party and got drunk."
He sat back down. "Why'd you do it, Helbram?" Zeldris looked serious and I had no idea why. I didn't quite understand what he was asking me.
"Why'd I get drunk?"
"No." He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Then something else?"
"Why'd you erase all of their memories from back then, including Melody's?" He asked, obviously already knowing the answer.
I was mortified. "I...I thought I erased your memory as well. How do you-"
"You didn't, don't worry your secret is safe with me. I do understand why you did it and why Melody forgot that her mother was murdered instead of getting ill and passing away. You erased most of the kids memories because of how traumatic it was and then when I found out what you had done, you tried to erase mine too. But you weren't strong enough back then as you were all only 6. You cared deeply for Melody and still do, I admire that. I think it was cuz they were all having nighterrers after witnessing it at her and Eliza' 4th birthday party several years before hand and you just couldn't take it anymore. So thank you for that. But don't forget, in doing so you also erased some of the precious memories you made with her." He looked sad, but still smiled. "You're the right guy for my niece, I can sense it."
"Th-thank you...Zeldris." I stuttered while blushing profusely.
"Call me uncle." He grinned.

I looked around the room, hoping for him to not come back in while I decided to cut the ropes and escape. I sighed and carefully slipped a sharp piece of metal that I had pulled off of the chair out and began to make friction. I bit my lip as the rope slowly became thinner and thinner by the second until it was almost completely severed.
Then the door opened and Percy walked in.
"Ready for more torture?" He smiled from ear to ear.
I let my hair cover my face as I started to worry about him noticing the piece of metal in my hand.
