Chapter 14 - Home sick

- Helbram Pov -

It was now Wednesday and Melody wasn't at school. It wasn't a surprise to me at all really, I was the one who carried her to the sick bay yesterday and waited till her uncle arrived to take her home. I noticed her body felt extremely hot and her face was abnormally pale, her stomach was a big bulgy and I could tell she hadn't slept in a week or two. I felt bad for her. This is all my fault.

I grabbed the last of my things as I prepared to leave. The bell rang and everyone left to go home, but I wasn't going home, I was going to go and check in on Melody.
Yes I understand that she probably hates my guts right now, but I have to know if she's okay, even if I just leave a note or text her.

But no...I'm going to go up, knock on that door and ask if she's alright with my own voice. I wonder if she's going to slap me.

- time skip: 30mins -

I got to her house and looked into the front window; the curtains were drawn and there wasn't a car in the driveway. I took in 3 deep breathes and walked up to the front step. I was extremely nervous...my heart was beating really fast and I was almost hyperventilating. I sighed as I went to knock, but I hesitated and pulled away. "What the fuck am I doing here?" I whispered and looked down at my shoes.
That's right...I was being a man.
I inhaled again and clenched my fist, bringing it up and knocking on the door. There was a moment of silence until I smiled; hearing Melody coming down the stairs and walking towards the door. I stepped back and watched at she opened the door.

"Helbram...why are you here!?" She hissed at me as I gazed at her reddened face and beautiful full lips, emerald green eyes and silky gold hair. A shivered ran up my spine. She was so perfect that I couldn't help but blush and look away.

"W-well...S-since you collapsed yesterday, I've been really worried about you and so I decided to come and check u-" i tried to explain before she growled and cut me off.

"Do you not remember what happened 6 weeks ago!? You got me drunk and slept with me, then yelled at me and left! How do you think that made me feel, huh!?" She breathed and grit her teeth while glaring into my soul. "Do you really care!?"
I looked down at my shoes with guilt and remorse.

"Lod-"

"NO! DON'T SAY MY NAME SO CASUALLY! YOU HAVE NO RI-"
She stopped as I grabbed both sides of her face gently and smashed my lips against hers. She stiffened, but didn't resist.

I pulled away, leaving her red faced and confused.
"Please...I don't want to lose you, I'm sorry that I yelled and I'm sorry that I got you drunk. I just wanted to know if you were okay." I spoke quietly and calmly to a dumbfounded melody; my hair casting a shadow over my unreadable face. "You mean so much to me...I only yelled because I was mad...mad at myself for being a dick and I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me for my actions...because..." I sighed and brushed some of the hair from her face as tears fell from her eyes. "I love you."

She looked at me with the most saddened expression and nodded. "Of course I can forgive you! I love you too...Helbram." She smiled and wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me on the cheek. "I always have..."
