- Melody Pov -
It's been at least an hour now and Helbram still hasn't put him down. I find it both cute and heartbreaking considering what could have happened. He's scared, that much is obvious, but he needs to relax now. Because we're okay. Micah and I are okay.
I shifted on the bed slightly as I observed him sitting in the chair besides me; cradling a sleeping Micah in his toned arms. "Helbram?" I asked.
"Hmm?" He hummed his response.
"Are you still frightened?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Of what?" He pried. Almost as though he'd completely erased the trauma from his recent memory.
I gave him the kind of look that only a concerned lover could as I clenched the sheets slightly. "Of...of losing him like we almost did..." I paused. "Hel, you haven't put him down for an hour...he's okay, please just put him down." I begged softly.
Helbram just waved me off playfully with a smile and a tight-lipped sigh. "He's fine-"
"But what about you!? It's like you've completely forgotten about what happened! Talk to me!" I cried.
His face fell downwards as his bangs hid his eyes. "I-" Helbram grit his teeth as hot tears spilt down his cheeks. "I'm trying my best to hold myself together, but it's just so fucking hard. What if he just stops breathing again-"
"He won't. The nurses assured us of that. So please...just give him to me and get some rest." I said softly this time.
Helbram's eyes held strong anxiety and unease as he carefully passed our son to me. "Please just don't take your eyes off of him while I'm asleep, okay?"
"Okay." I replied and smiled at him as I watched him relax back in his chair, his eyes instantly snapping shut; his head going limp against the wall as he fell asleep. I breathed a sigh of relief, but unfortunately the door quickly flung open, allowing the rest of our crew to intrude on our special moment of silence.
"Hey, Melody!" Killia smiled - her fingers intertwined with Nora's.
"Kill...it's 7pm...keep your voice down!" I hissed quietly; motioning to Helbram in the chair and Micah in my arms.
She quickly apologized and shot a quick glance to her girlfriend and then back at her cousin against the wall. "How're you holding up? Still feeling tired?" She asked me.
I nodded. "Yup, I'm still feeling it alright." I chuckled softly whilst gently rocking my son.
Deloris and Zenita suddenly popped up from behind them with Marcus and Ronan. "Can we see him!?" Deloris fawned over her nephew before walking over to me and kneeling down to his level. "Woah! He's so cute!" She whispered in a fond voice. "You named him Micah, right? He looks so much like you guys, the resemblance is uncanny! So much hair too, kinda like Helbram's! " Deloris pointed out with a grin.
I nodded."I know, right. It wasn't easy, but he's finally here... Helbram's still pretty shaken up about it, but he'll be okay as long as he gets some rest." I explained sorrowfully. This caused Zenita to raise her eyebrow at me in interest.
"What happened?" She asked, squeezing past Nora and Killia with Marcus trailing behind her (Marcus and Zenita are dating now, btw)
I bit my lip. "I'm not really sure I want to talk about it just yet. You see, it's also Helbram's decision if we tell you or not and I don't think this'll get any easier for him if we keep bringing it up."
"Oh...I'm...I'm so sorry, that was careless of me." Zenita apologized with guilt on her face.
"No, you couldn't have known."

- Helbram Pov -
24 hours later and he's finally home. Our baby boy.
Everyone is super excited to properly meet him, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with it after what happened to him. He's just so small and fragile in my arms as I sit on the couch with him. I don't want anyone to take him from me.
Melody's asleep upstairs; still recovering from the stress of childbirth. I'll leave her be for the time being.
I heard a small whimper emit from Micah and instantly turned my attention to him. He was staring up at me with soft emerald eyes, yet still too young to do much else. I smiled at him softly and brushed his cheek with my index finger. "Hey buddy...you know that I love you right? I'm never going to let anyone hurt you as long as I live, understood?" I cooed, leaning down to plant a loving kiss on his forehead.
"Thank you."...a voice rang through my mind...and there was no doubt about it.
It was Micah's.

- final time skip: 5 years -
- no pov -
5 years have passed since Micah's birth: Melody and Helbram have had a second child named Astrid, Marcus and Zenita are still together and planning on having a family one day, Killia and Nora are content in their relationship, and Percy has finally atoned for all of his past transgressions and wrongdoings (proving himself to be genuine and becoming apart of the group as a result)
Despite these positives, Melody can't seem to get a certain tiny box out of her head - the one King gave to her while Helbram was in a coma.
It remains staring at her from the dresser, taunting her with all of its mysteries and sentimental values. She was lost in thought until Helbram entered the room, spotting her seated on the bed, facing the dressed with an intense, perplexed expression carved into her face. "Melody?" He asked. No response. "Melody?" He clicked his fingers in front of her face, effectively pulling her from her trance.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about something." She spoke with unease.
"Yes, I could tell. You looked so displeased and perplexed. Want to share it with me?" He suggested whilst taking a seat besides her.
Melody huffed and tucked some of her mid-neck length hair behind her ear. "That box...on the dresser."
He looked over to it and then back at her with questioning eyes. "Yeah? What about it?"
"Your father gave it to me when you were in that coma...told me it was important and that I wasn't to open it." She explained, remaining seated as he stood up to go fetch it.
"Gods...I had a feeling that this was from my father, but I never truly paid it any mind." He whispered, picking it up and then striding over to her on the bed. "Unfortunately, my dad knows me far too well at this point." Helbram chuckled, getting down onto one knee.
Melody gasped and shot up. "No way!" She cried out in shock as the lid was lifted to reveal a diamond ring.
Helbram shifted himself awkwardly as his hands began to shake. "Melody Wrathen, since we were 6 years old, you've been the only woman that I've ever truly loved...so...umm...will...will you marry me-" He got out right before Melody broke down into tears.
"YES! OH MY GOD, YES!" Melody cried out happily, throwing herself onto him and smothering him with hugs and kisses. "I've loved you for so long and waited my entire life to hear you say those words!"
"R-really!?"
"Of course, because I love you, Helbram!" She smiled.
"I love you too, Blondy." He laughter, sliding the ring onto her finger.
