- Helbram Pov -

- His pov of waking up -

For a while there was only darkness. I couldn't see or hear anything. The last thing I could remember was a sharp pain in my chest, hitting the floor and then passing out in Melody's arms.
And then after so long, I opened my eyes again only to find my sister seated beside me, phone out frantically talking to someone. I was still a little bit confused, which was understandable.

We waited for 10 minutes for the person to arrive, in the mean while she looked over at me and frowned. "How are you feeling about all of this? Do you remember everything?" She asked.

"I'm okay...I haven't lost any of my memories...it's only my recollection of that night that's a little foggy." I explained in a croaky voice. 'Must have been out for a while.'
I looked over at my sister for a split second and then looked down at the floor. "How long have I been out for, Deloris?"

"2 weeks."

I was shocked at first, but just took a deep breath. I was about to ask about Melody when the door opened and my parents rushed to my side, my mum pulling me into a tight hug; sobbing silently.

She said nothing to me except how happy she was that I was awake. I hugged her back and then she, Deloris and my dad left the room again, almost as if they were waiting for someone to arrive. I didn't get why they were in such a hurry. But I just excepted it.

The bandages that were secured tightly around my torso helped to keep the pain to a minimum. I suddenly moved forward a bit too fast and I ended up gasping and gripping the railing harder as I felt the pain suddenly increase. I tried to ignore it; In time it'll pass. And as it subsided, I turned to look out the window, catching my breath and then smiling as I thought about how lucky I was to have survived. "I can't fucking believe it." I said in amazement.

The door opened again and I turned around.
There she was...the love of my life and the mother to my unborn child. "Helbram?" She sobbed silently as her hands flew up over her mouth.

"In the flesh..." I laughed as she bolted over and threw herself onto me, pressing her face into mine. Her beautiful golden hair swaying as she did so. Such vibrant green eyes. I missed gazing into them.

Melody pressed herself against me as much as she could, saying how much she loved me and how happy she was that I wasn't dead. In the middle of all of the affections, I rested my hand on her stomach and noticed a slightly larger bump. Not much, but bigger.
I felt her melt into my touch as I nuzzled into her shoulder and caressed her stomach.

"I love you." She mumbled into my ear, causing me to blush and smile.

"I love you too." I smirked, giving her a quick peck on the cheek. "And also our little jellybean," I whispered, but froze when I felt her hold on me tighten and her sobs becoming more painful.

"I-I'm so sorry, H-Helbram," She spoke with tears cascading down her face, "I should h-have stopped you...because then...th-then-"

"Hey, please don't blame yourself for this, Lody. I did it to protect you and our child. I would gladly take another bullet to the chest if it meant you could remain unharmed." I soothed, tucking a strand of golden hair behind her ear and gently kissing her on the forehead. "I would die for you. Both of you."

"Don't say th-things like that! I don't W-want you to die!" Melody cried. I simply smiled and cupped her cheek.

"I won't." I kissed her on the forehead again before pulling her into my arms. "I have too much to live for."

"Good," She spoke, relaxed almost by my reassurance.

"Well, now that we've gotten that out of the way, tell me what I've missed out on while I was asleep."
