Chapter 25 - Telling him the truth

- Melody Pov -

I wiped my eyes aggressively as the tears continued to flow down my face; my body was shaking like it had never shook before and I was terrified.

This was it. He's about to find out about the...thing...

I took a deep, but shaky breath and prepared myself.

"I-I'm..." I stopped abruptly as a sob caught in the back of my throat and I couldn't stop crying. I could barely even look him in the eyes.

I heard a muffled sob and immediately looked up at him.

"P-please..." He stuttered as I saw the tears of grief and concern in his eyes begin to spill down his cheeks. "P-please don't tell me th-that you're d-dying..." he cried.

I shook my head and closed my eyes tight. "H-Helbram...I-I'm not g-going to die..." I reassured with an unsure expression. "I'm p..." I stopped quickly as the door opened like lightning.

Deloris threw herself into the room and without looking or caring she started yelling at us.

"I KNEW YOU BROUGHT HER BACK HERE!" Deloris yelled in an accusing tone while pointing at Helbram.
We both just looked at her with frustration and annoyance.
It took her a couple seconds to realise she'd just walked into our private conversation; of which she responded by shutting up.

"I-I c-can't do th-this anymore!" I cried as I pushed passed both of them and ran out of the room.

"MELODY!" Helbram called out to me as I bolted down the stairs and out the front door.
I could hear him chasing after me because shortly after I exited the house, I heard the door slam again.
"Wait!" He called out as I ran to my uncle's house and bolted inside, not bothering to lock the door behind me.

He followed me inside and chased me up into my borrowed bedroom. "Please! G-go away!" I screamed as I faced the wall; my bangs covering my face.

"Why did you run!? What's wrong!?" He demanded and grabbed me by the arms.

But I shook him off and took a step back towards the door. Letting him stand with his back to the window. "Tell me!" He yelled.

I sighed. "I love you...so please...please don't leave me for this, Helbram." I cried softly.

"I won't! I would never do that!" He declared aggressively. "I just want to know what's the matter with you!"

I looked at my stomach as I placed a hand on it gently. "I'm pregnant." I said simply.

He was completely shocked. Tears started falling hot and heavy as he began to break the fuck down. "A-a-are you serious? A-a-are you keeping I-it?" He whispered sadly.

I let my bangs cover my face again. "Yes."

His breath hitched. " S-so I'm gonna be a f-f-father?"

I nodded slowly. "Y-yeah." I sobbed.

"I'm glad." He said and pulled me into a hug. "I-I'm glad it's w-with you." He laughed as he kissed me deeply and passionately.
