- Zeldris Pov -

The morning after coming back from their doctors appointment, the two came and woke me up, saying that they wanted to have a gender reveal party cuz they knew the gender. Obviously. At first I was like. 'Yeah sure, that sounds fun.' But now that I really think about it I realise that it didn't actually sound that fun. Melody and Helbram thought about inviting both of their parents and I wasn't really sure if that would be a good idea given their initial reactions to finding out in the first place. Unfortunately Melody was adamant on having them attend because whether they liked it or not, they were going to be grandparents.

I sighed and agreed.

And that's how I ended up here, sitting on the couch with a glass of red wine and a fake smile. Gelda was sitting on my right, while Zenita was on my left. "Hey dad? Why don't you go talk to uncle Meliodas?" My daughter suddenly piped up, staring at me curiously while scratching her arm. I internally groaned and shook my head, she understood and just nodded and got up. "I thought so. Anyways I'm gonna go find Melody."

I smiled, genuinely.
"Okay, but When you find her, Zenita...can you please tell her that she has to pop the balloon soon?" I instructed.

"Understood." My daughter saluted before scurrying off into the crowd.

I stood at the bottom of the stairs; leaning on the railing as Helbram stood next to me while talking to Marcus. I kept drifting off as I wasn't part of their conversation, because they were talking about video games and I'm not into that shit.

I just continued imaging what our son would look like when he grew up. Would he be tall like Helbram, or short like me? Would he be blonde or have brown hair? Would he....I got pulled from my thoughts as Zenita tapped me on the shoulder. "Hey, Melody...You alive?" My cousin asked as I slowly snapped back to reality.

I turned to face her and she smiled softly. "Oh, Zenita! Hey...W-what are you doing here?" I responded meekly. It kind of startled me when she suddenly just appeared out of nowhere.

She just looked at me. "I'm here to talk to you, of course. My dad wanted me to tell you to pop the balloon, because this is a gender reveal party afterall and..." She explained before trailing off; her eyes had drifted to meet with Marcus's and she suddenly looked away while blushing. I stared at her blankly as she quickly composed herself, clearing her throat and looking back at me. "Sorry, as I was saying..." Zenita spoke quietly as I looked back to see Marcus staring at her with interest.

I sighed and gave her a knowing smirk. "Zenita, you've got the hots for Marcus, haven't you?" I teased her slightly. She just blushed. .

"N-NO!" She declared loudly. I sniggered at her behind my hand, which caused her to glare daggers into me.

"I don't believe you." I giggled softly while trying not to full on laugh. She simply turned away and started to leave when Marcus himself came over to us.

"Hey, your name's Zenita, right?" He asked her just so she would stay a little while longer.

She turned around slowly while blushing. "Yes? Why do you wanna know?" She questioned with fake confidence. Such a tsundere.

Marcus just stared blankly for a few seconds before cracking a smirk. "Why do I wanna know? Maybe cuz you were staring at me?"

Her face went 50 shades redder. "Only b-because you kept making eye contact w-with me!" She got out, which caused him to chuckled slightly.

"You're right." He stepped forwards. "Guess I was just admiring your deep red eyes." He shrugged while smirking and blushing slightly.

I watched the two interact and ran my hand through my medium length blond hair. It was nice to know that Marcus had finally found someone other than me to lay his eyes on. Now don't get me wrong, Marcus is one of my pals, but I always felt a little weird knowing he liked me. He never told me personally, but I always fucking knew.

I suddenly twitched as I felt Helbrams hand slide around my own. He brought his face close to mine so I could feel his breath on my cheek. "Since these two are obviously having a moment, let's go." He whispered into my ear huskily, I nodded with a cheeky look on my face as I felt him give my ass a soft squeeze.

"You horny bitch." I purred as he smirked and began taking me into the living room.

- Meliodas Pov -

I stayed in my little corner as all of the other guests sat in the living room and talked. The overwhelming sensation of guilt begged to sit in the bottom of my heart and there was nothing I could do to stop it from eating me until there was nothing left. I looked at my bottle and frowned. It was beginning to get dark outside as I pulled my car keys out of my pocket. I wanted so desperately to leave, to get out of here, but there was something stopping me from walking out of that door.

I put my keys back and stuffed my hand in my pocket. I felt like garbage. I was garbage.

Everyone was loud for a second and then quiet again, I scoffed and took a sip from my booze. Nothing could make me feel better anymore.

"Dad?"

I turned my head to see Melody with Helbram. I put my hand up and gave a quick smile. "The one and only, but not the best." I said with sarcasm dripping from each word.

She shook her head. "Stop it...please...just enjoy the party." She spoke calmly.

I nodded slowly and took another sip from my beer. "I'm trying, but the others don't seem to want me around." I explained.

"Neither do I." I heard Helbram mutter quietly.

"Sorry? What was that?" I asked with practised calm, despite my tight grip on my bottle my face remained stoic as ever.

He just looked at me, no smile, just narrowed eyes. "I didn't say anything. You must be deaf."

I just looked at Melody and smiled. "Well, guess I'll go and chat to Zeldris then...might clear some shit up." I faked a happy tone as I pat my daughter on the head and glared at Helbram.

I swear to fuck that boy is going to be the death of me.

- Helbram Pov -

I scoffed as I watched Meliodas disappear to talk to Zeldris - who was now in the dining room chilling by himself.

I gripped Melody's hand tighter as my bangs cast a shadow over my eyes. "Helbram?" She asked me.

I just looked away.

She sighed. "There's no need to get so uptight over small shit like that...okay? Just forget about it and relax."

I grit my teeth slightly at her words. "I'm sorry, but I can't stand your father! He's an absolute piece of shit!" I growled quietly. No one else heard.

She frowned, but nodded. "I understand you're still mad about what happened 2 weeks ago..but for me and our son, can you please relax. If you're uptight then so am I." She said desperately as she caressed my cheek for a second.

I felt a twinge of guilt at her words and put one hand on her face and the other on her bump. "I'm sorry, Lody. I'll try and remain calm for you and our baby." This made her smile and my heart warmed.

"Thank you...bottom lashes" she said with a straight face.

I died on the inside from the new nickname she'd come up with. "Bottom lashes?...guess I'll go with it."

The party went a little nuts at the end. My father and uncle made up, everyone was happy and I accidentally walked in on my cousin and Marcus making out in the toilet...yeah.

When I popped the balloon and blue glitter went everywhere, everyone started cheering ( I also got a deep kiss from Helbram and a hug )

My father came up to me before he left and gave me a huge hug, telling me how sorry he was and everything. I nodded and forgave him (for now)

Everything turned out pretty okay in the end.
