As the afternoon soon became night, the four sat down at the table to eat and exchange small conversations. There was always an awkward silence between each question. Luckily they all ate rather quickly; leaving the table just as fast.
Melody and Helbram went upstairs to go to 'bed' and Meliodas and Zeldris stayed downstairs to talk.
There was thick tension as Meliodas plonked himself on the black fabric couch and watched Zeldris with tired eyes.
"So? How long are you staying this time?" Zeldris pried curiously as he slowly crossed his leg over the other.
Meliodas looked at the stairs with guilt. "3 months at most, if I stay any longer I'll lose my job and my hold on Mael. It's the only form of Intel I can get on him. But seeing as he's escaped I guess that doesn't really matter anymore." The shear fact that he'd been able to break out in the first place was horrendously terrifying given the tight security he was under at the time.
"So all you care about is Mael?" Zeldris questioned with a serious expression and an undertone of irritation towards his older brother.
Meliodas was taken aback by this, but played it cool.
"No." He said simply.
They sat in silence for a second until Zeldris cleared his throat. "So you came back to be with Melody?" He asked.
Meliodas nodded with a glint of sadness and regret in his eyes. "I know I haven't been the best father, but I really do want to make it up to her. She probably still despises me for leaving and I understand that, but something inside me keeps telling me to try harder and I can't ignore it. I won't."
Zel smiled. "I'm glad that you're trying." He spoke calmly as he got up to grab Meliodas a pillow and a blanket. "Maybe you should do something with her tomorrow? Like take her somewhere." He suggested.
"I can't, she's going to bring him with her because he's not going to want to leave her side. I think it's best if I just do stuff with her when I can and leave her alone when she wants to spend time with Helbram." Meliodas stated. If he was going to be completely honest, he would say that he didn't really feel comfortable with Helbram staying the night. But he kept his mouth shut. Because a man who cares more about his own opinion than a loved ones heart, is a man of greed and selfishness.
Zeldris understood why he was uncomfortable. He didn't need to ask, because he saw it in his eyes; the eyes of a broken man torn apart by tragedy and loss. "I think that's best." He yawned as he threw him his bedding and started walking towards the stairs. " Oh and by the way, If you need to feel secure, just remember I put a rifle under the couch. I'll see you in the morning, Meliodas." Zeldris turned off the lights and walked up the stairs to his bedroom.
"Good night...Zeldris." He whispered to himself as his eyes were blinded by the darkness that filled the room. He sighed in the abyss of black as he reached under the couch to pull out the rifle.
"I'll see you tomorrow."

The two lovers layed on the bed together, wrapped in sheets and secured in each others warmth. Melody was much smaller than Helbram so she was completely smothered by him (which she didn't mind)
(Quick note, Melody is 157 cm and Helbram is 180 cm)
Melody whined as she tried to sit up, but got resistance from her boyfriend.
"Please stay here with me. I really missed you." He begged with puppy dog eyes and an arm secured around her waist.
Melody huffed as she gazed into his elegant yellow eyes. She couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by his charm, but she had to pee. "I'm sorry babe, but I really gotta use the bathroom. I promise I'll be back soon." She cooed and brushed some hair out of his face.
"Why not co-op shitting?" He chuckled jokingly, getting a punch on the arm from his girlfriend.
"I thought you were trying to be cute, but then you said that!" She huffed while crossing her arms and puffing out her cheeks.
