Chapter 36 - Gender reveal

Uncle Zeldris dropped us off at the clinic. The building was small yet modern with dark grey paint and glass doors. I folded my arms as I looked at Helbram. He smiled. "You ready to find out our babies gender?" He asked. I nodded with a big smile.

"Of course." I beamed as he took my hand and led me into the building.

The nurse came and got us: she was a tall, skinny looking woman, well into her years. I took Helbrams hand as she led us down a long open corridor. I suddenly felt nervous as she stopped. "You both look rather young to be having a child." She stated.

I just looked at her with complete seriousness. "Is that a problem?" I asked her, she just shook her head and smiled.

"No, not at all. Come in and lay down." The older woman instructed with a soft voice. I smiled back, entering the room and making myself comfortable on the bed. Helbram suddenly squeezed my hand tighter, I noticed his eyes were covered by his bangs and his hands were sweaty.

"Helbram? You good?" I whispered to him.

"Y-yeah." He stuttered quietly. "I'm just nervous...that's all." He chuckled and looked at me, his golden eyes sparkling as they met with mine.

I smiled as I noticed his sudden change in attitude. "Well that's good." I said just before the nurse brought over some gel. I looked at it uncomfortably as I realised what was about to happen.

"Haha! I can already tell that you're not gonna like this very much." She chuckled as she squeezed some on her hand. "Now! I'm gonna need you to lift up your shirt for me so I can apply it onto your skin." She Instructed. I was reluctant to even touch my shirt, it felt so awkward showing my bump off in front of another person other than Helbram. I couldn't do that.

While I was stalling, the nurse shot Helbram a cheeky look. I caught him smirking out of the corner of my eye.
So without hesitation, Helbram began rolling up my shirt to reveal my stomach. He stared at it with pride while I laid there blushing like a tomato. The nurse laughed before applying the gel.

I cringed at the sensation.
"Ah! What the fuck!?" I cussed at how cold it was against my skin. I squeezed Helbrams hands super tight, which made him wince slightly. "Sorry!" I apologized.

"It's okay." He said and then looked at the nurse holding the scanner thingy in her hand.

"You ready?" She asked me calmly. I nodded to confirm that I was comfortable before she pressed the scanner into my stomach. I had to admit. It felt kinda strange. Having an older woman observing me in such a way just felt different. It was a sensation that I would never quite get used to throughout my whole pregnancy.

I clenched Helbrams hands as a black and white image suddenly appeared on the screen along with the sound of a small heartbeat. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. "I-is that...is th-that r-really our baby!?" I stuttered as I stared at the monitor.

She nodded as she too stared at the monitor with glee. "Yup, that's your baby." She confirmed. "And if you look hard enough you'll be able to see their tiny little feet."

I smiled from ear to ear as I glanced over at Helbram, only to find him trying desperately to hold back his tears. My heart melted as he gave me a wide smile and just let the tears fall down his face. "It's amazing." He laughed happily, I laughed too.

The nurse cleared her throat. "Would you like to find out the gender?" She asked both of us. Helbram continued to gaze into my eyes as he said yes.

I felt her move it around more and then suddenly stop. I looked at her as she removed the scanner from my stomach. She looked us both in the eyes and smiled. "Congratulations... you're having a boy!" She said.

I stared at Helbram and he stared at me As we both began bawling and hugging each other, we were just so happy to finally have been able to find out the gender of our kid. "Oh my god! Helbram, we're having a boy! Our own little boy!" I exclaimed as he held me tight.

"I'm so damn happy right now, Melody! I think I'm gonna burst!" He yelled back as he squeezed me in his arms. We began kissing intensely...aaaand we kinda forgot about where we were. (No sexual shit tho, gotta keep this stuff PG...P for porn, G for gotta keep going)

Meanwhile the nurse snuck out of the room to avoid the situation.
