- Melody Pov -

After Dinner, I grabbed my bag and turned in for the night. My uncle had a room for me ready and waiting whenever I would come to visit, so that's were I fled.

As soon as I closed the door, I shuffled over to the bed, died on the inside and fell face first into the sheets. I enjoyed the feeling of fresh, cool linen on my skin. I breathed in the scent of fabric and suddenly started feeling tired. The smell reminded me of my own bed.  I strained my arm, attempting to retrieve my phone from my pocket as I could hear my notifications suddenly go off. I looked at the screen with annoyance as I realized it was my dad trying to message me.

I scowled as I read the text.

Dad- 'Hey, How are you settling in?'

'Just fine, thanks. I wouldn't have to 'settle in' if you hadn't abandoned me!'

Dad- 'Look, I'm sorry for not telling you, that was selfish and irresponsible.'

'Oh, I don't care about that! It's more the fact that you left me to take care of myself!'

Dad- 'I left so I could make more money!'

'So money is more important to you than your own daughter!?'

Dad- 'That's not what I meant, Melody!"

'Fuck you, Meliodas!'

I quickly blocked him before he could respond. "Asshole." I hissed and slammed my phone onto the bedside table. "I fucking hope he never comes back..."

I felt like crying. I just really hated him!

I heard a soft knock on my door, I sighed and told him to come in. Of which he entered, closed the door and then sat on my bed. "Melody?"

"Yes?"

"I know we've never really talked all that much and this conversation is going to be really awkward, but hear me out-" I flipped over, sat up and looked at him.

"Don't even say it. If this is about my dad, then I don't want to hear it!" I snapped at him.

"You need to know." He tried to put his hand on my arm but I grabbed it and pushed it away. Uncle Zel gave me a shocked expression.

"He messaged you...didn't he?" He whispered. I nodded slowly while looking at my hands. "You got into a fight?" I nodded again. "He's trying his best, Lody, you need to understand that."

"I don't even care anymore, he can go fuck off somewhere else." I felt angry at myself, I felt like I was the problem and that was why he left. But I wouldn't tell my uncle that. I don't want him to pity me. "Can you just leave me alone for a moment? I just want some time to process everything." I huffed as i fell onto my side.

"Okay, but you WILL speak to me tomorrow." He said with a stern tone. "And no more of this 'I'm too above this to give a shit about the rules' attitude." I groaned, but agreed.

I lifted my head off of the pillow. "I'll try."
