Summer Danvers
"Guys?" A voice comes up to me and Brittany and we turn around, to see Phoebe.
"What?" Brittany sneers.
"I-I... Just wanted to say I'm sorry." Phoebe stutters.
"You're the one who ditched us for Savannah." Brittany says, saying 'Savannah' in a weird voice.
"I... I know. I-I've made a mistake. I'm sorry, Summer, Brittany." Phoebe says. Phoebe was a really good and close friend, and I didn't mean to fall out with her like that, but since then, she's been making fun of me and Brittany and it sucked.
"I'm sorry too, Phoebe." I say. "I didn't mean to fall out with you like that. I'm sorry." I say as I stand up and give Phoebe a hug. I hear her sniff as she hugs me.
"I'm sorry. I... It was just a ticket to being popular but I didn't realise it was taking my real best friends away." Phoebe says as we pull away. "I didn't mean those things I said. Savannah just wanted me to, and I had to because I.... I just wanted to be loved, you know? To be popular." Phoebe sighs. "But I have you guys, and you guys are the best in the world and I can't forget that. I'm so sorry."
"I'm sorry too, Phoebe." I say and Brittany looks at me in disbelief. I look at her expectantly, and she shakes her head.
"You want me to apologise to her? You seriously want me to apologise?" Brittany says, hands on her hips.
"I'm sorry, Britt." Phoebe says.
"Don't call me that." Brittany snaps.
"I'm sorry." Phoebe repeats.
"Ugh, whatever." Brittany says and walks away. I look at Phoebe.
"She'll give in soon." I say.
"Yeah." Phoebe sighs.
***
"Hey, who are you going with to the dance?" Brittany asks me as we sit in homeroom. I talked to Brittany and she finally sorted things out with Phoebe and everything is back to normal again. I hope. Trinity is away again, she's been away from school for ages, I wonder if she's really sick.
"I don't know, actually. What about you two?" I say.
"Well I'm going with Cody." Brittany says. "What about you, Phoebs?"
"Um....."
"Do you not have anyone to go with, Phoebe?" Brittany asks.
"I do... But...." Phoebe sighs. "I'm going with Luke."
"Luke?" I frown. "Luke... Luke Delaney?"
"Yeah." Phoebe says.
"Since when did you two start dating?" Brittany asks.
"We're not." Phoebe says. "He just asked me."
"Oh." I say.
"Do you like him?" Brittany asks, flicking her hair over her shoulder.
"Well.... I don't know, I haven't talked to him much but he seems nice." Phoebe says.
"Wait, you said yes to a guy who you barely know?" Brittany asks.
"What? No! I do know him." Phoebe says.
"Oh really?" Brittany raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah." Phoebe nods.
"Okay... If you say so." Brittany says and turns back to me. "What are you gonna do? The dance is real soon."
"I don't know." I sigh. "Maybe I just shouldn't go?"
"No! You have to go!" Phoebe says.
"But there's like no one I can go with!" I say.
Unless.....
"God, you're gorgeous. Do you have a boyfriend?" Layla asks me.
"Um-"
"Cos if you don't, I would be more than glad to set you up on a blind date. God, I know someone just perfect that you could go out with." Layla continues.
"Um, thanks, Layla. But at the moment, I don't think that's necessary." I say.
"Okay. But if, anytime, you do, just ask." Layla says.
"I will. Thanks." I say as we head out onto set.
Hm.... Maybe it is necessary. Maybe I should talk to her about it.
***
"Hey Layla.... This was ages ago... But... About that blind date...." I start, as I get my hair done before filming.
"Oh! That! You still remember that?"
"Yeah... It just sorta... Popped into my mind." I say. "So uh, does this guy go to Addersdale High?"
"Um.... I think so...."
"You think so?"
"No, actually I'm pretty sure he does. Yes he does. Why?"
"Oh.. We have this dance coming up and I kinda need someone to go with. Hopefully this guy's nice and maybe I can go with him." I say.
"Oh..." Layla nods. "I see."
"But he's single, right?"
"Yeah." Layla says.
"Oh, could you ask him then?"
"Sure." Layla says. I nod.
"Cool, thanks Layla!"
