Summer Danvers

"Oh my god." I laugh when Sean cracks a joke. Sean asked me asked me if I wanted to hang out again, and I just agreed, and here we are, in a cafe, sipping drinks and talking.

"I know, right?" Sean says, as he stands up. "Should we.... Should we go, now?"

"Yeah, sure." I say, as I stand up as well. "Where should we go?"

"I don't know...." Sean trails off. "Do you want to watch a movie?"

"Sure." I say and we start walking towards the movies. "What movie should we watch?"

"I'll choose. You wait here." Sean says and I nod and I watch as Sean walks towards the counter to get tickets. He soon comes back, and I look up at him.

"What are we watching?" I ask.

"There's nothing on, I mean, nothing that we could watch, it's like, all boring, or it's on in like two hours."

"Oh." I say.

"Wanna come to my hotel?" Sean suggests. "I mean, to watch movies. Wait, never mind, I have no movies we could watch."

"We could go to the DVD shop and borrow one and maybe go to my house?" I ask.

"Would that be okay?" Sean pauses. "With your parents?"

"Well...." I pause. "I'll just text my mom now."

You: Can me and Sean go home and watch a few movies?

Mum: Is it Sean Carter?

You: Yea

Mum: Well... As long as you don't... You know... Do anything...

You: Mum! Of course we're not! How could u even think that? And besides, Sean and me are just friends, nothing more than FRIENDS

Mum: Ok, if u say so

You: So is that a yes?

Mum: Because I'm the best mum in the world, yes.

You: Thx mom xx R u at home?

Mum: No, but Zach is, and I think Lexi is too

You: Ok

"Um, are you okay?" Sean asks as I frown at the screen of my phone.

"What?" I look up. "Oh, yeah."

"Oh okay." Sean says. "So are we allowed?"

"Yeah." I say. Why would mom think that I like Sean that way?

"Cool." Sean says. "Let's call a cab."

"Oh god." I whisper, grabbing something to the right of me as a monster on the screen pops out. I feel something tense up, and I look at Sean, and I realise I'm holding onto his hand. I look up at him, and our eyes lock, then I pull my hand away immediately. "Sorry." I say quickly, and I look at the floor.

"Hey. It's okay." Sean whispers, as another monster pops up, and I jump in surprise. I don't usually get scared so easily when I watch movies. "Do you want to stop watching this? You don't have to if you don't want to."

"No, it's okay." I whisper. Sean wanted to see this movie, and I just went along with him, but maybe that was a bad idea.

"Hey." Sean says, and he pulls me close to him. I hesitate but soon I just lean my head on his chest, and then soon I bury my face in his t-shirt as another thing pops up on the screen. I pull away from him when all the monster sounds has died down, and then I look up at him, and our eyes lock, and we must've stayed like that for a while, because the next thing I feel is his lips on mine. I stay motionless, and I pull away.

"I..... I d-don't-"

"Sorry." Sean sighs.

"I just....." I trail off. "Um......"

"You know what, I should just go." Sean stands up, and I stand up after him.

"You're going?"

"Yeah." Sean shrugs and he walks out of the living room.

"Are you... Are you sure?"

"Yeah. Thanks for having me over." Sean says again and walks out of the house before I can stop him.

"Did he leave already?" Lexi asks. I spin around.

"What are you doing here?"

"I live here."

"Shut up, that's not what I meant."

"Well why did he leave so early?" Lexi asks, as she sips some coke. I shrug and walk into the living room and turn the DVD off, and walk upstairs to my room.

"This is Sophie Reels, she's new to school." My social studies teacher says to the class, with Sophie standing at the front of the classroom. "Sophie, is there anyone you know that you could sit with?" Mrs McLeen asks.

"Um....." Sophie glances around the classroom, and when her eyes meet mine, I give her a small smile and she gives me a big smile in return. "Well I've met Summer before." Sophie says.

"Jolly good, you can go sit with her. There's even a spare seat next to her! Perfect. You can sit there from now." Mrs McLeen says and Sophie walks over to the spare desk where Trinity used to sit. I miss Trinity so much, she was one of my best friends and it feels different to have her gone.

"Hey Summer!" Sophie says enthusiastically.

"Hey." I say, a little less enthusiastically. "I didn't know you were coming to Addersdale High."

"Well here I am!" Sophie squeals as she sits down and I mentally sigh.

"So today, you will be starting to plan your next assignment, and I want you to work in pairs for this one, and it will be due in a couple of weeks, depending on where everyone is up to." Mrs McLeen says as she hands the sheets for the assignments out.

"Want to do this assignment together?" Sophie asks.

"Yeah, sure." I say.

"And the rest of the period, you will be deciding what to do for the assignment." Mrs McLeen says.

"So, what is this assignment about, anyway?" Sophie says as she looks at her sheet. "Oh! We have to create a poster for fair trade!"

"Yeah." I say.

"Hey are you going to the big game this weekend?"

"Um, you mean the football one?"

"Yeah." Sophie nods.

"I don't know." I shrug. "Depends."

"Oh. You should come!"

"Maybe." I shrug again.

"Oh, and speaking of which, how are you and Ray?"

"Yeah... Well.... Wait what?"

"How are you and Ray?"

"Um.... Why?" I say. This wasn't really her business.

"I don't know, I'm just curious I guess."

"Um, I don't mean to be rude or anything," I say. "But this isn't really-"

"My business? I know, but I'm just-"

"Even if you were curious, I still don't think it's your business. What goes on between Ray and me is between Ray and me." I snap, just as the bell goes to signal lunch.
