Summer Danvers
"You said Savannah told you that they were dating, right? And Ray was there as well?" Phoebe says.
"Yeah....." I say slowly, not sure what this was leading to.
"Maybe, just maybe, he wanted to see your reaction!" Phoebe says cautiously.
"What?" I frown.
"He wanted to see your reaction." Phoebe says more definitely this time.
"What?!" I repeat, even though I heard what she said.
"So you're saying that Raymond used Savannah?" Trinity says.
"Not necessarily....." Phoebe says. We all stay in silence for a few seconds.
"Well if you think about it that way, yeah, maybe Phoebe's right." Brittany pipes up.
"But you guys don't know for sure." I say.
"Yeah.... But that doesn't mean that it might not be true, Summer."
"I know, but-" I bite my lip. Maybe they're right.
"So..... Summer? Do you like Raymond?" Brittany asks cautiously. Do I? Do I like Raymond Elliot? The Raymond who makes me laugh, the Raymond that has been my friend since we were little?
"I-I...... I-" I stutter.
"Summer Danvers!!!!!!!!" I hear someone yell and all our heads snap towards the direction of the voice. Savannah.
"Yeah?" I say, as she stands in front of me, hands on her hips.
"Explain yourself." Savannah snaps.
"Who are you, my mom?" I snap back, and start to walk away with my friends.
"No, but it's all your fault!" Savannah hisses.
"What is?" Brittany asks my thoughts out loud.
"This is none of your business." Savannah snaps.
"You were the one who came running up to us with your face as red as a tomato. Even the tonnes of make up that you put on yourself can't hide that. I mean like seriously, even a colour blind person could see that." Brittany says, and we all try to keep in our laughter, except for Savannah.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny Brittany. No one asked you to stand up for your so called friend here."
"What do you mean my so called friend?" Brittany snaps, clenching her fists.
"Well, I just wonder sometimes, if you and Summer are really friends. Or if you guys are just pretending." Savannah smirks. I frown, and open my mouth to speak.
"Why would you wonder that? Have you got nothing else to do in your life?" Phoebe speaks up. Savannah looks taken aback, but she composes herself again, but we could so tell.
"Of course I do." Savannah says. For some reason, Savannah hates - I mean really, really dislikes all my friends. And me too of course. How could I forget?
"Then stop worrying about us and worry about yourself instead." Trinity says.
"There are no problems with me to worry about." Savannah snaps, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Really? Really Savannah? Maybe you should think that one through." Brittany smirks.
"Ooh...... Ouch." A boy says as he walks past but Savannah shoots him a death glare so he quickly walks away, ducking his head. And before Savannah knows it, we're all walking away. When we turn a corner out of Savannah's sight, we all high-five each other in delight.

"Summer!" I turn around at the voice to see Ray, jogging to catch up to me. "Hi."
"Hey." I reply.
"Where are you going?"
"I was just on my way to set." I say. Suddenly, I hear the clouds rumble above us, and I quickly glance up, dammit, it's gonna rain. As soon as the thought passes, I feel little droplets of water falling on top of my head.
"Oh god, we should probably go somewhere where there's shelter." Ray says, and I nod in agreement as we head into the nearest cafe, and sit down at a table, we were a bit wet, but we weren't soaking wet which was good.
"Hello, how can I help the young couple today?" A waiter comes up to us, with a notepad in hand.
"Oh no, we're not-" I start, but the waiter interrupts.
"Not sure what to order? Well normally, when it's raining, the classic hot chocolates sells real quick." The waiter says, and I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket, so I have a look at it.
I think we might have to cancel for today. Could you come tomorrow? Same place, same time?
A text from Layla. Layla did say that we would be filming outside today..... I text back immediately.
Yeah sure, I'll be there.
"Don't you have to go......" Raymond trails off just as I press send.
"No, it's canceled." I say, and turn to the waiter. "Could we please have two hot chocolates then?"
"Sure thing." The waiter says and walks away. We sit in silence, a very awkward silence. Why is it so awkward between us? Usually we're fine. After all, we're just friends. Right?
"Could you...."
"So is it true...." I say at the same time Raymond talks. "Um, you go first." I say.
"No, you go." Ray stutters.
"No it's fine, you go." I say. And Raymond takes a big breath.
"Could you..... I'm... I-" Raymond looks at the ground. "Maybe you should go first." He mumbles but I shake my head.
"Continue....."
"Here are your hot chocolates." The waiter says and hands us our drinks.
"Thank you." I say.
"Thanks." Ray says.
"You two look so cute together you know that?" The waiter says and walks away. Me and Raymond sit in another awkward silence once again. Ray breaks the silence by clearing his throat.
"So......" He says.
"So, what were you saying?" I say.
"Um............ I w-was just wondering..... If..... If......"
"If........?" I ask.
"If you wanted to go...... To prom with me?" Ray says quickly. Raymond's looking at the ground, not meeting my eyes. We both stay in silence for a bit, me just collecting my thoughts. "Never mind. It's alright. If you... If you've got someone to go with already." He mumbles, but I can see the hurt in his eyes. I stand up and bring my chair over so I'm sitting next to him. I fiddle with my hands on my lap.
"No, I don't have anyone to go with yet." I say quietly. Ray glances up at me, and our eyes meet, and I give him a small smile.
"But you don't want to go with me?" Ray says, still looking at me.
"It's not that Ray." I say softly. And I look at my hands on my lap. "Of course I'll go with you." I say softly. I gather up zone courage and look up to meet his eyes, and his are looking straight at mine, our eyes locking. And before I know it, our faces are inching closer, and closer, and when his lips meet mine, sparks fly.
