Raymond Elliot
"Raymond." A familiar voice says making me turn around.
"Summer." I greet.
"Did you hear that Sophie Reels goes to our school now?" Summer says casually, leaning against a few lockers.
"Uh, well, yeah.. Kind of.. Did she start today?"
"Yeah, she's in my Social Studies class!" Summer says enthusiastically. I'm kinda glad that they're in the same class, because then Sophie can get to know Summer and then Sophie can tell her.
"Cool." I say.
"She was.... She and I were talking."
"Mmhm."
"And she brought up the subject of..... Us." Summer says slowly. Wow, Sophie must've told her already. She's good.
"She did?"
"Yeah. And... I don't know, she seemed a bit too curious."
"Yeah... What?" I blink.
"I don't know, she kept asking me about us and I just said that it wasn't any of her business but she kept asking." Summer says and I mentally smack myself in the forehead. I take what I said back. Maybe Sophie isn't that good at telling people stuff.
"Did she?"
"And you know... I can't help but keep thinking of maybe someone told her to ask me about us." Summer says slowly.
"Oh......"
"I don't know who that could be, do you?"
"Uh..... N-no."
"Really? You don't sound so sure." Summer says, beating around the bush. Wow, her acting skills have improved heaps.
"I-I.... W-well..... I-"
"Everyone in the school football team, come to my office, now!" My football coach yells.
"W-well, I-I better go, catch you later." I say quickly and jog in the direction of Coach's office. When I get there, shortly after, all the other guys are there.
"So boys." Coach says, I mentally thank him. If it weren't for him, I would probably be back where I was a few minutes ago. "It's about that game this weekend. Unfortunately, one of the 'important' players in the opposing team got injured so the game has to be postponed." Coach growls, making quotation marks when he said the word important.
"They're probably just too scared to versus us." One of the guys chuckles.
"Dude!" Another guy says.
"So we'll have to spread the word that it's postponed, and I'll also tell teachers myself. Thank you boys." Coach says and we all file out.
"What do you think about it?" One of the guys asks another.
"It's pretty stupid, I asked a girl out to that game, she's pretty hot, and she said she would come and now I need to tell her that it's postponed."
"What do you think about it, man?" Colton, a guy from my football team walks up alongside me.
"I don't know." I shrug. "It doesn't really bother me much."
"Hey I hear there's this hot new girl at our school."
"Who?"
"I think her name's like.... Uh.... Sophia.....?"
"Oh, you mean Sophie?" I ask.
"Uh, could be. I don't know. You know her?"
"Yeah... A bit."
"Really? Introduce me to her, man." Colton chuckles.
"Well..... I-"
"Come on, dude. You've got Summer, right? You can't have all the hot girls."
"I don't have all of them." I chuckle.
"Anyway, if you get a chance, could you, you know, set me up with the hottie?"
"Maybe." I shrug.
