Twenty six

Chloe laid in bed. She looked up to see Kim as she walked in. Kim was worried about her daughter. Chloe had barely said two words since Graham was attacked.

Kim walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. She sighed as she looked to her. "You can't stay in bed forever darling. I know you're worried about what happened with Graham. But you can't stay like this. You need to do something. You need to get up and try to move on," Kim said.

"I can't. It was my fault. I was there. And we were arguing. He was attacked and it's my fault," Chloe said.

Kim looked to her and frowned. "No it's not. Look, you didn't do anything wrong. You told the police you were attacked too. They did the tests. Luckily whoever attacked Graham didn't do anything to you. You're okay," Kim told her.

Chloe sighed as she looked to her. She sighed. "I don't feel okay," she said.

Kim smiled. "I know darling. But you are. Mentally you're not. But you can't lie in bed all day. It's not good. And Esmè needs you. Her father has been attacked. And she has no idea what's going on," Kim said.

Chloe walked down into the living room. She smiled as she saw Scarlett who was sitting playing with Esmè. She smiled as she looked to her little girl. "How's she been?" Chloe asked as she sat down. She smiled as Esmè crawled over and cuddled into her.

Scarlett smiled. "Good as gold. She's been winding up Uncle Cain. Haven't you cutie," Scarlett said.

Chloe looked to her and raised an eyebrow. "Uncle Cain huh?" She asked.

Scarlett smirked. "Well he sleeps with me so he's uncle. Besides I'm pregnant. So he's definitely part of the family now. This isn't about me. It's about you. I wanted to see how you were?" Scarlett said.

Chloe looked to her. "I just feel like it's all a bad dream. And how I'm going to wake up anytime. It scares me. I don't know what to do. But what I do know is I want to move on. And be there for Esmè. Her daddy is in the hospital. And he may die. That's as scary as it comes," Chloe said.

Scarlett smiled as she looked to her. "It is. But you're strong. You went through trauma and it'll take time," Scarlett said as Chloe looked to her sister and smiled.

Chloe sighed to herself as she got to the hospital. She stood outside of Graham's room and looked to him. She felt numb as she watched him.

She knew she was there when something happened to him. And it broke her heart. Especially as she wanted to help him. But she couldn't. And she hated it.

Chloe walked into the room and sat with him. She sighed. She just wanted everything to be okay. But with Chloe slowly starting to recover from what happened to them, would Graham be okay? Or would it be too late for him?
