Hey guys! So I realized that a year ago sometime last week was when the first chapter of this story came out, and in honor of that I decided to post the first chapter of Abby's backstory!

Ok, but a few things first before the story-

1) I'm so sorry it took so long to write this, but if I'm being honest this is the fifth version of the first chapter. I just kept starting them, hating them, becoming discouraged, then starting a new one, so, yeah, sorry!

2) I still don't have a name for this, it's just 'Abby's Backstory' so if you have any ideas for a title I'll gladly take suggestions!

3) What do you guys think of the photo above for a cover? (Please be nice-)

4) And finally, in just a year we reached 15k reads and 1k votes, so I would like to thank every one of you who read/voted/commented on this story, because it really means a lot!

And that's it! Thank you guys once again, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on what I have so far!

Also, I may or may not (I probably will) edit this before actually posting it on its own separate story, but yeah! Enjoy!

"I'm not coming out!" I hear Ella yell from the bathroom. The girls around me giggle and tell her if she doesn't they'll just drag her out, and I don't doubt it for a second.

"Fine, but no pictures!" She tries to negotiate. Some mumble in agreement while others refuse.

"C'mon guys, hand them over," I say, dumping out a bowl of candy onto the floor and using the bowl to collect everyone's phones.

"You're cleaning that up you know," Maggie points out, and I do my best not to roll my eyes.

"I know," I reply, maybe a bit harshly. I collect everyone else's phones. Reaching Maggie I say, "Hand it over,"

"Nope. Not happening. Everyone's gonna see it anyways so what's the point," Maggie points out, and I hear others agree.

"Can we hurry up and get this over with?" Ella whines.

"Not unless I can keep my phone," Maggie insists, and I feel the sudden urge to kick her, right in her smug, 'perfect' face.

"Fine, you can keep your phones. But you can't post any photos. Deal?" Ella calls from behind the door. I stand awkwardly with the bowl of phones, waiting for everyone to agree.

"Deal," Maggie says smugly. We all know she isn't going to keep up her side of the bargain, but we also know it's as close as we'll ever get.

I hand back the phones, watching as each and every one of them pull up their cameras. I shake my head as I take my seat, leaving my phone in the bowl.

Ella groans as she steps out of the bathroom, her new shirt a little too big on her. Everyone in the room bursts out laughing. Everyone except me and Ella. I cringe, unable to imagine how embarrassing this must be for her.

After all the pictures, the ones we all promised not to post, we're all paradeing out of Maggie's house, Ella in the lead. I stand towards the back, wishing I was anywhere but here, sure Ella is feeling the same way.

Ella leads us up the street to the school, where people are just leaving the football game. I catch sight of Mykel, Ella's brother, who just happens to also be my boyfriend. He stares as he watches his little sister walk around school dressed in a shirt with his best friend's face on the front. I give him a look, telling him I'll explain later.

Because Mykel is her sister, Ella has to go up to the next most popular guy in school, Mykel's best friend, Ryan Williams.

"Hey, jackass," Ella starts, trying to avoid eye contact. I forgot to mention... She hates this man-no, boy- with every cell in her body, and I can hear the hate laced in her voice as she greets him (if that's what you call this). Maggie clears her throat, implying that Ella should be nicer. I see her smile at Ryan, putting up an innocent act.

"Sorry... pal?" It comes out as a question. I work my way up to the front of our group, finally reaching Ella and putting my hand on her shoulder.

"You got this. You can just punch his face in when he comes over next," I whisper in her ear. It makes her laugh, and suddenly she's in a much better mood.

"I just want to say that I think you're super hot, and wanted to know if you'd want to go out with me sometime," Ella says in her most convincing fan girl voice. I cringe behind her, trying my best not to burst out laughing.

"Oh Ella," Ryan begins, pretending to swoon over her. I hear Maggie gasp, not expecting this at all. Clearly she can't tell he's pretending. "I would just love to go out with you!" He says, far too enthusiastic.

I catch Mykel's eye, and I can tell he's lost. I step closer to him, knowing Ella can handle this herself.

"You guys have some explaining to do," he whispers in my ear, snaking his arm around my waist. I lean into him, enjoying the show in front of me. I suddenly wish I had some popcorn.

"She lost a bet, so she had to ask out one of the most popular guys in school. And because you're her brother, we had to go with Ryan," I explain as Ella and Ryan act like star crossed lovers.

Mykel and I stare as Ella and Ryan lean in real close, their lips almost touching. I'm amazed they haven't broken character yet.

"Do any of these airheads, no offense, realize they absolutely hate each other?" He asks, watching as Maggie's face gets redder by the second. Guess she didn't expect it to go this way.

"None taken. And no, they have absolutely no idea they want nothing more than to rip each other's throat out," I say just as the two love birds grab each other's hands and walk away, still pretending to be madly in love.

"That's our cue," Mykel grabs my hand, pulling me with him towards our friends.

As soon as we're out of sight Ryan and Ella break apart, both of them making gagging noises. Mykel and I laugh, earning us the death glare from both of them.

"I think that's the longest you two have gone without trying to kill each other," Mykel points out, and I can't help but laugh.

"Burn me alive. I'm not asking you, because if you don't then I will do it myself," Ella insists, and Ryan shakes his head in agreement.

"The look on Maggie's face was priceless though," I say, putting my hand between Ella's head and a pole so she doesn't give herself a concussion hitting her head on it.

"I think I'm going to throw up," Ryan says, putting his hand over his mouth and gagging some more.

I roll my eyes and see Mykel do the same. "C'mon, it couldn't have been that bad," Mykel said, knowing they were both being overdramatic.

""That was awful." Ella stated, speed walking away from us. I laugh, say goodbye to Mykel, and follow.

By the time I catch up to her, she's already taking off her shirt and putting on a new one.

"Not gonna keep it?" I ask, earning me a glare.

She throws the shirt at me, saying, "Here. Keep it. Like hell I'll ever wear it again,"

"You're not going to wear it to bed every night?" I tease, throwing it back at her. She rolls her eyes at me and jumps in her car, revving the engine.

"I should just run Ryan over. Then I won't ever have to see his stupid face again," Ella says, an evil glint in her eye.

"Yeah, how about no," I laugh as I climb into the passenger seat. "You should definitely hang it on your wall!"

"Then, I can throw darts at his face whenever I want!" She agrees as we pull out of the parking lot. The rest of the short ride is filled with conversation of how many ways we can ruin the shirt with the one and only Ryan Williams face on it.
