A week has passed since Leorio had met Abby, and they have been discussing how to bring the situation up to Kurapika. Finally, they came up with a plan. As soon as Kurapika got home from school, Leorio would tell him they need to talk, sit him down, and give it to him strait.
"Yeah, that's it! I'll give it to him strait!" Leorio said to himself, preparing for what's ahead.
It was surprisingly easy to get Kurapika on the couch.
"What do you need?" Kurapika's voice had a harsh tone.
Leorio took a deep breath, and began. "I feel like," he sighed, " I feel like we need to address situations about our relationship."
"How so?"
"I feel like you don't take our relationship seriously." Leorio started. "My opinions and feelings aren't heard, and that everything about our relationship are only beneficial to you."
Kurapika winced at this. "You think it's beneficial for me to be with you?" He snapped back, standing up and going to his desk.
Leorio could tell this isn't going to be as easy as he thought. He chose his next words carefully. "I just hoped... just thought, we could have a normal conversation about...us."
"What's it matter to me?" His voice seethed with wrath.
Leorio stood up shouting, "We're done then!" He was already packed just in case. He walked out, tears beginning to well up in his eyes.
...
Fifteen minutes later, Abby sat caressing Leorio's hair as he explained what had gone down.
"And then I left." He finished, his voice laced with sadness. "It's over," he cried.
Abby wrapped her arm around him, trying her best to comfort him. "I was in a similar situation once," she whispered. "But instead of ignoring me, he would hit me." She lifted up her right sleeve to reveal a small scar on her arm. "He once threw a scissors at me." She sobbed.
Leorio nodded, not pressing her any farther. "What am I going to do now?" He asked, snuggling up close to Abby.
"Well, surely you didn't pack everything of yours, and you still have a key, so maybe tomorrow when Kurapika is at school, you can go grab the rest of your belongings."
Leorio's stomach clenched at the thought. He shook his head, indicating that it was too soon.
Abby nodded in understanding, and put her head on Leorio's. She could feel the rhythm of his steady breathing. "Leorio?" She whispered. No answer. "Good night." She muttered and closed her eyes.
