After Leorio left him, Kurapika sat with his feet in the water for another hour. The numbness seethed up into his legs, and by the time he tried to stand up he could barely feel his knees.
That's when he saw it. Leorio had left his jacket on the dock. Kurapika picked up the jacket with shaker hands. He threw it around his shoulders as he stumbled off the dock.
Kurapika wanted to thank Leorio, but after snapping at him it seemed to soon. Instead he walked home, snow beginning to fall.
It had been a while since Kurapika spent a day without Leorio. It hurt him, but Kurapika decided to stay home the next day. He was supposed to go to the restaurant, but he knew Leorio would be there.
Instead the Kurta sat on the couch. He got out his old textbooks and studied. Usually studying was calming, but it wasn't working.
Kurapika tried cleaning, too, but because he had been spending so little time at his apartment there really wasn't much to clean. He did his laundry, but that didn't take too long.
As Kurapika waited for his laundry to finish, he scrolled through his photos. He looked at all of his pictures of Leorio, wishing he could be with him.
Looking at all the pictures of Leorio made Kurapika smile. Then he figured out what he would do with the rest of his day. He ran back to his apartment and grabbed a sheet of poster paper. He then hooked his phone up to his computer.
Kurapika spent the rest of the day printing out pictures of Leorio and Abby he had saved on his phone. He then trimmed the edges and glued the images on the poster paper. He had a collage before the sun was down.
The young Kurta was up all night making these. He found pictures of Leorio, and made a poster just for him. Then Abby, and because he had the material, he made more
By the next morning Kurapika had five posters. He made one of Leorio, Abby, Leorio and Abby, Leorio and himself, and one for Abby's journey in opening her restaurant. It made Kurapika smile as he remembered every one of the pictures.
Kurapika stared at his work for a while. By the time the sun was up he made the decision to go see Leorio. He threw the posters in the back of his car and began towards Leorio's apartment.
Kurapika was about to knock on the door when he heard a snore from inside. He stood in the hall for a moment before letting himself in. He immediately noticed the change. Leorio had new furniture, and there was plastic scattered along what was left of the floor. Kurapika could barely walk through all the clutter as he searched for Leorio
He finally found Leorio curled up in a ball on the floor. Kurapika dropped the posters on the couch and crouched down. He tugged Leorio out of the ball position he was laying in and put his arms around him. He took a second to take in Leorio's smell before lifting him.
Kurapika half carried and half dragged Leorio into his room. By the time Leorio was tucked in and Kurapika was sure he was comfortable, the small Kurta was panting. Leorio was so much bigger than him, and all the clutter on the floor didn't help much.
Kurapika began to clean Leorio's house, and when that was done he left. He wanted to speak to Leorio, but for now this would have to do. He left the posters on the couch, forgetting about them completely.
"Goodnight." The Kurta whispered, kissing Leorio's head before he left, locking the door
