Kurapika sat at his desk, eyes dry and body hunched over, staring at his computer. He had been in the same spot for hours. Leorio had a saddened haze in his eyes as he looks over at his boyfriend. He had been sitting on the couch, looking at him working all evening. It was nearing eleven p.m. when Leorio decided to try and speak.

"Hey, Pika, it's almost eleven, you should take a break." Leorio stated.

"No." Was all Kurapika said.

"Bu-" Leorio tried protesting before he was interrupted.

"Shut up and leave me alone!" Kurapika yelled, slamming his fist against the desk, sending daggers Leorio's way.

Leorio stood up silently, grabbed his keys, and left the apartment, sending one last sorrowful glance at  Kurapika.

...

Leorio was sitting at the bar, staring into his Irish stout, when a short blonde woman appeared next to him, looking to start a conversation.

"I see you here a lot, is everything ok? You've been staring at your stout for quite a while now." She questioned with a soft voice.
Leorio remained silent, not having realized the woman next to him.

"I'm Abbiline, but you can address me as Abby." She smiles as Leorio finally lifted his head to look at her, extending a hand to shake hers.

"Leorio." She nodded shaking her soft hand.

"Is everything okay?" She repeated.

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"You've been staring at your stout there for quite a while now, so I got curious."

Leorio only nodded at her.

"I've seen you around, you seem like a nice guy." She said, in a flirtatious tone.

Leorio looked away, blushing.

"Handsome as well!" She added quickly, making Leorio's face turn the color of a tomato.

Leorio turns his head slightly towards her, and responds. "I have a boyfriend."

Abby looks taken aback at those words and begins a friendly interrogation. "So, is it a long distance relationship? I've never seen you with anyone else."

Leorio takes a minute to process this, and shakes his head.

Abby stares at him, waiting for more. "So...any explanation?"

"He's busy with school work. Nothing too serious."

They sit in silence for a while before continuing on.

"When was the last time you've been on a date?"

Leorio sits thinking for a minute, finally admitting he can't remember.

"How long have you been together?" She asked, pressing on.

"Four years." A saddened smile crossing his face.

"Have you ever been on an actual date with him?"

"I only remember the first." He answered.

"Have you ever tried getting him to go on another?" She asked, starting to question the relationship.

"Yeah, but any time I talk he yells at me to shut up and go away, or throws a fit, so I've given up at this point. He's so caught up in school he doesn't even sleep anymore." Leorio frowned.

Abby sighed, dreading this next part. "That relationship isn't healthy. He's ignoring you, and acting selfish. If he doesn't even sleep, he definitely won't have time for you." She had a knowing look in her eyes.

Leorio looked up at her in confusion, waiting for her to elaborate.

She looks away, her voice dropping to nearly a whisper, "A relationship should be equal to both parties, not biased to one. I should know after all." At this she stood up, but as she reached the door she added, "Talk to him, it needs to happen. Please. I don't want to see someone else get hurt." And with that, she was gone.

Leorio looked back at his drink. He left a tip and stood, leaving the drink untouched and walked out into the brisk night air to ponder what she had just said.
