Some soldiers raided the house from last night, but luckly Day quickly got better, so our trio escaped. They were able to find a safe spot on a second-floor ledge, a few streets away, and meanwhile Day and Bandana Dee went back to find anything to help.
"So," asked Bandana as they walked through the street, "I don't really get how I'm helping..."
"Easy. You're like a... extra information holder, or something," Day responded. They both watch the streets: vendors calling out to sell their stuff, boats around the lakes, and...
Day kept talking. "I don't think the girls blushing at us are helping. What's worse is they might be blushing at me more, yet I'm not intrested in some date."
"You could say that again," Bandana replied.
Bandana noticed some strange markings around the streets. He was about to ask about it until the screens, called JumboTrons, started some kind of video, with a strange flag.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the Great Republic of America, to our Ele..."
"Uh, what do I do here?"
"Follow. My. Lead," Day whispered.
They both quickly saluted, and while Bandana carefully followed in panic, Day just muttered the pledge under his breath, and didn't even finish the last two passages.
"...Well, now what?"
"We can keep going safely now, Dee. C'mon, this way."
Bandana and Day walk towards a Chinese-themed bar, with the entire thing in graffiti. There's a attendant at the door, but Bandana sees something suspicous about him. A little button, shaped like a Warp Star.
"We have real Tsingtao beer today," the attendent says with a smile, "Leftover cases from an imported gift sent straight to our glorious Elector himself."
Bandana wanted to ask about the Warp Star, but Day stopped him before he could start.
"Uh... thank you." The duo steps inside, and see some darkness. As Kirby would've described it, it smelt like Venom Kracko and dimensional Nruff meat. They both bump into a few tables, which Bandana gives a silent sorry to, and eventually they reach the bar.
"What'll it be?" the bartender asks without looking at them.
Day shakes his head. "Just some water for us both please."
As the two start talking more, Bandana noticed something beneath the bar.
"Kawasaki?" He whispered as he tried to look over the counter.
"Bandana Dee?" Kawasaki quietly whispered. "What brings you to this place, Bandana?" He's quietly cleaning some cups.
"I have absolutely no idea. I was thrown into the place."
"Ah, so you've been thrown into a portal as well?"
"Yeah, but for what reason did you come here from the portal?"
"I remember something about the king, a ghost, and some robot I've never seen before.
"The king? What was Dedede doing?"
"Something about a flower, I think?"
The two looked around, and noticed Day and the bartender just talking there, distracted.
"Here," Kawasaki said with a bit louder voice, "have some of my shrimp! On the house, and not seen anywhere else. You wanted a water too, right?"
"Yeah, and this is some pretty good shrimp."
"Enjoy it, it might be the last one given away..." Kawasaki shudders as he fills a cup with water. "I've learnt that this place is STRICT, and one bad move could get you to a- da dada dada daa da dum, BAM!" He pretends to slice his head at the last sound.
Bandana is now shooken. "Re- really?"
"Well, you're nice enough. So I'm sure you're fine. I was hired here after being found by Kaede."
"Who?"
Kawasaki points to the bartender. "Her."
"Well, what did you do to get hired?
"All I did was make a Energy Drink with more Maxim Tomato and less sugar! She loved it, and now I'm getting payed in these fancy 'note' thingies!" He shows Bandana a note.
"Woah, seems different than the D-Bills we have!"
Both duos kept talking, and as some time went off, they had to leave.
"Hey, Dee, c'mon, we're outta here," Day shouts.
"Well, you better go," Kawasaki says as he washes the dishes, "I really hope you find Kirby soon."
"Me too, Kawasaki. I- i'll see you at later possibly." Bandana nods his head at Kawasaki, and Kawasaki nods back with a smile.
"So, Dee, you up for your first helping mission?" Day askes Bandana.
"Mission?" Bandana confusingly answers.
"Yeah, we're going to the 'ten-second place' for some medicine. Heard some guy wanted to see me for them."
"Ten second place?"
"Yeah. The Arcadia Bank."
"Well, what part do I have on this?"
"Make sure no one follows us. Simple."
"Alright, I'm in!"
Later that night, the two got ready to approach the man. They got on top of the roof of the bank, but Day start rewiring something.
"What's that for?" Bandana asked silently
"Just in case we're getting tricked. Now watch and learn while you guard. *ahem* What do you want for the cure, cousin?"
Bandana stood still as he watched Day communicate with the man. But then he could've sworn he heard a "poyo." He quietly went over to investigate, and got his head over enough to not be found.
There were two figures. A person, and someone that looked like Kirby. The shorter one looked up, showing some form of shading of pink. Bandana quickly got back to his original position before the figure could catch him.
Kirby? He was here? Bandana finally found him, but couldn't bear to ruin Day's plan. Eventually, he shut himself up before any more damage could be done. Bandana started to think to himself about the portals that brought him, Kirby, and Kawasaki here. Could it possibly bring more of his friends from Pop Star? And why was Dedede a part of Kawasaki's story? Whatever it was, he still wanted to know.
"Your cloak knot. Don't know what it is, but it sure doesn't look civilian," Day continuted to talk with the other figure.
Bandana couldn't quite understand what the voice was saying. Something about a Canto knot? It wasn't a know Bandana has heard of, and wondered what it could signify.
"No use, Dee," Day told Bandana quietly, "I'm saying this guy and his weird pet are trying to trap us. C'mon, let's get back to Tess."
"On it."
The two quickly got out of there before anyone followed them, but Bandana still had some questions. Later, they were able to travel theirselfs with Tess to some pier underneath.
"So," Bandana starts up after Day fell asleep a few minutes before "I've really wanted to tell you more about my friend Kirby."
"Well go ahead, Dee," Tess responded, "why not?"
"So, Kirby is my best friend. As I mentioned, he's a pink little guy who LOVES to eat, and kills weird demon things."
"Strange..."
"No, It's true. He REALLY hates saving the day, but the friends he meets during his adventures makes up for it. Recently back where I live, we had this big revolt..."
"Go on..."
"I don't remember most of it, but some weird top hat thing went onto my head and it was the last thing I know. Luckly, Kirby went up to save me with some new pals he made and destroyed the spirit! Now us Waddle Dees are pretty much equal to everyone."
"Oh..."
"I don't actually belong here. I was thrown into some bag from a guy and put into those sewers Day was in. I sense Kirby was in this world, and I'm thinking... maybe some of my other friends might join..."
"I see..."
"If you were to meet them, you would all become best friends. Trust me, they're really kind once you know them."
"I'd like for that to happen."
"Me too."
The two sat there in silence as Day slept, and eventually, the two drifted off as well.
That night, Bandana had a strange dream.
It was nothing but a figure that looked like some evil force Kirby fought before... only more menacing. It's eye was pure red and on it's side, four little stubs were on it's left, right, on it's head, and it's bottom. Sticking out of the bottom stub was a weird plant, as pointy as pointiness could get. Before Bandana could reach it, he was woken up by Day and Tess.
"Psst!" Day whispered, "you know what's going on, Dee?"
Before he even responed, he heard footsteps, and then a voice.
"There's something brewing. Plague's popped up in the Zein sector this time."
The footsteps then got quieter and quieter until none of the three could hear it anymore.
"Plague?" Bandana Dee asked.
The other two ignored him for now.
"I've never heard of the plague showing up there."
"Must be a stronger strain."
"What are they going to do?"
Bandana tried to help, and searches around the small spot until he felt something... cold.
Metal.
"Hey guys? I think I found something." Bandana pointed his spear at the sheet of metal.
The other two went over to investigate as well. Day brushed away some of the rocks and dirt, and more of the metal showed.
"It's hollow." Tess started.
"And cold." Bandana Dee followed.
"Hollow?" Day asked. He put his ear on the lump of metal, and a huge wave of noise blasts out. He then looked carefully at the metal, and noticed symbols on the surface.
One was the flag seen on the JumboTron earlier that Bandana saw, and another was a small red number: 318. But Bandana was more focused on a small corner where a part of the metal has stopped, written in cursive was:𝓖𝓵𝓪𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓹! 𝓜. 𝓖. (Glad to help! M. G.)
