Day tried to escape recently.

I guess the soldiers weren't enough, because they put me and Dedede in charge. Ya know, since we both basically killed hyper demons. Heh, what do ya know! A penguin and a marshmellow, taking care of a criminal!

"So," Day starts up, "You've seen what I've done to Commander Jameson's hand?"

"That must explain the sudden drip of blood on my glove," Dedede replies.

"How'd she get that anyways?" I ask.

"Bit into her hand pretty hard. I assume you did this before?"

"I don't even have teeth."

"After that, she told me this story. Something about this guy similar to my traits. Tried to escape like me, and had gotten killed private instead of publicly with the firing squad."

"What IS the firing squad like anyways? Bet it's just a bunch of Shotzos..." Dedede puts his elbow on his hammer with a grin.

"That, and lots of soldiers and those weird things that look like a electrical plug."

Dedede's grin fades. "Welp, you're gonna die."

"Uh," I nervously continue, "have you heard from-"

"Yeah, I've heard from June. Said I need her help. Although I might be losing my mind, there's NO way a Republic soldier is gonna help me escape here."

"Ah," I say, "But what if she and some randomly shaped flying blobs helped you escape?"

"I doubt it."

"Dedede, hit me."

Dedede swings his hammer on my head as hard as I can. I burp out my bubbled Mirror Ability, pop the bubble, and swallow the Ability in whole.

DING!

I split in half carefully and swing through the room to outside before coming back in and bubbling my ability again.

"So, you were saying?" Dedede chuckles.

"Huh, guess I'm wrong about you. Well, as long as you guys could save John and Eden..." Day seems worried.

"Who?"

"My brothers. You guys already know what happened to my Mom, right? I wouldn't want anyone hurting my last remaining family members." He looks straight at me. Huh. His eyes seem more blue than mine. And sparkly, too.
"Kirby," he says to me. "When we escape out of here, do you promise to take care of my brothers as much as I do?"

I get a flashback of all the things I did. Destroying Yin-Yarn with Prince Fluff, killing Marx with my Dream Friend, ridding Magalor's crown with my main crew... I remember the words the deep voice told me, but then I start to realize something:

Not everyone is going to be nice. Not everyone is going to be mean, either. All it takes to figure it out is to know your enemy. Just by one sentence.

My friends, in this case, actually helped me. Just because I helped them. And now it's time to do it again.

I keep these thoughts in my head as I stare at Day promisingly.
"I promise to take care of them, no matter what." I nod.

"Thank you." There's a small tear trying to climb over and fall near the corner of his eye. I feel like he experienced some kind of dream.

It's night time. Back at William's house. I'm playing chess along with Lancer, who's teamed up with William.

"Checkmate!" I yell, in my Kirby language.

"That was kinda not fair," William chuckles. "Best out of sixteen?"

Lancer bumps his elbow while laughing. "C'mon, man! We've played fifteen games already! How about a movie?"

"Sure, why not."

"Ooo, let's do it!" I jump up and down.

William turns the TV on and goes searching in the disc holder near it.
"We've got some new movies. There's this one about some Republic girl who captures a Colonies spy."

"Glory of the Flag?" Lancer replies.

"Yeah. But I don't feel like it's a cool enough thing for pinkie here. We also have one about an artist who tries to look for inspiration to draw for his dying daughter."

"Hey, William! You have the one about the basketball guy with those cartoon characters?"

"The one from about ten decades ago? I have it, but there's no way you remember that."

"Yes way. I saw it mentioned one or two times by some of the poor sector people. Although I couldn't understand why everyone talked about that one rabbit..."

I walk towards the disc holder. "May I find a movie?"

William seemed to understand, as he scooched over. All of these movies suck, seemingly from their artwork. One has a depicted picture of two rats behind a large tower. Based on my knowledge, I'm guessing it's about some guy who wants to take over the sewers. There's this other one that depicts a lizard guy holding a plastic fish. Meh, pretty sure I've seen weird trash like this before. Then something catches my eye. It's a strange little blue figure who is portraited with a sword, attacking a noble knight. I've watched this before, mostly because I know the two figures were a Roly Poly and a Bukiset.

"The Little Blue Creature that Could." I remember everything from this movie. All the action, the many friends Roy (the Roly Poly) had, the brave knight who tried to stop him: I needed to see it again. Without hesitating, I quickly pull it out of the holder.

"Ooo, ooo! Can we please watch THIS movie?!" I try to give the same puppy eyes gimmick that girl did back when my scar was fresh.

"Heh, The Little Blue Creature that Could. You don't mind watchin' this one, Lancer?" William seems like he loved this movie as well.

"Sure, why not? I'll go ahead and make the popcorn. White Cheddar?"

"You know me too well, Lancer." William and I both chuckle.

The movie was still as good as I saw it before. Roy happily with his friends, until that mean knight shows up and takes his friends! Then the knight summons some towers, each of them holding two friends hostage. Roy then travels super hard, and saves them. Then, he fights the knight in the final tower, and it's no match for him! The knight, instead of apologizing, gives a message towards Roy once he runs away.

"Roy

I've been surprised by your heroism for your friends. But watch out. I've tried to save your life from a backstabbing friend or two. Maybe you'll find them before they find you. I wish you farewell and luck.

                                                                                                                               -The Mysterious Knight"

This originally was supposed to set up for a sequel, but it never happened. Maybe the company ran out of money?

It started to rain once I fell asleep. Lancer already left, and William had already heated up my sheets for me. What a guy! Although I search my thoughts for the promise I made to Day. I'll help protect his brothers, no matter what.

It's currently the next day. Guess I haven't had enough movies yet, because Thomas invite me, Bandana (somehow), and June to watch that "Glory of the Flag" movie, as I mentioned before. Apparently, it has good reviews, but I bet it's not as interesting as The Little Blue Creature that Could. Roy will always be my favorite movie character! Roy's my boy! I'm kind of tired, though...

"I suppose you must be excited, with what everything that's going on," Thomas says as we file on.

"Yeah, not really," Bandana replies. I'm confused how this guy can get everything off track when we change Bandana's name to something so simple. It might be the baseball cap I gave him to hide? "Excited isn't really the best term for how most of us are feeling, but I guess I look forward towards it?"

"Gotta say, Thomas," I ask, "How is the entire thing gonna work?"

"Well, I know I'll be monitoring the soldiers in the square. Who knows what the crowd might do. They're probably already gathering. As for you three - you'll be probably be inside. Leading Day to the yard. Commander Jameson will tell us more when it's time."

I exchange a nod towards the others We'll have to pick the greatest Dream Landers who can hide well - possibly Bio Sparks - and I'm sure we can use Yin Yarn's yarn organs to make uniforms for the humans. He IS basically cloth, after all...

"June," Thomas tells her.

"Yes?"

"You weren't home at night."

This brings me a confused look. "Huh? Why would you ask her that?"

"Well, I stopped by her apartment in the middle of the night. I knocked for a long time, but she didn't answer." Bandana tries to hide a worried face as he looks back up at June. "It sounded like Ollie was in there, so I knew you didn't go to the track. Where were you?"

"I couldn't sleep," she replies. "I went up to the roof for a while and watched the streets."

"You didn't bring your earpiece with you. I tried calling you but it just got static."

"Really? The reception must have been bad, because I had it on. It was pretty windy last night."
That a big lie. Why is she lying?

"You must be exhausted today. You'd better tell Commander Jameson, if you don't want her to work you too hard."

Bandana Dee suspects something out of that. "Wait, why were you at her house in the middle of the night? Anything urgent you needed to tell her, hmm?" He lifts one of his eyes up in a suspecting face.

"No, no, nothing like that. To be honest, I couldn't sleep either. I kept thinking how anxious you guys must be. Thought I'd surprise you."

I recall this morning that William had to tell me something from "one of my leaders." I kept thinking about Bandana, and rushed out the door without even knowing what it was. Wonder if it was Thomas who had something for me...

June pats his arm. "Thanks. But I'll be fine. We'll execute Day tomorrow, and I'll feel much better afterward. Like you said. Won't be long now."

"Oh, that was the other reason I wanted to see you all last night. I wasn't supposed to tell you - it's supposed to be a surprise."

Uh oh, surprise alert. Not good for a puffball currently stuck in a war. Still, the others and I try to fake some excitement. "Huh?" I ask, "what's that?"

"Commander Jameson suggested it, and she got the courts to approve it. I think she's still pretty mad about how hard Day bit her hand when he tried to escape." Heh, that was kinda fun.

"Got what approved?" June asks.

"Ah, there's the announcement now." Thomas is pointing at the movie screen. It makes my void stomach even voider.

The commercial looks like something a bunch of full-grown Gaw Gaws tried to make. A white and green pattern, being filled with pictures, dark blue text, and Day's photo is in the middle.

Thursday, December 26th. That's today. We're screwed.

The rest of us squeeze out all the air inside us. "Today?!"

"Tonight," Thomas grins. "Isn't it great? You won't have to agonize through another whole day."

June tries to keep a upbeat tone. "Good. I'm glad to hear it."

None of us are glad, though. Of course, I've saved my friends before in the same time- but two humans? I don't have the strengh. I need to bring a meeting with everyone before the so called murder dies.

Besides, the movie I watched sucked, anyways. Horrible choice.
