Bandana Dee

Blade and I are in the headquarters. There's JumboTrons outside currently advertising Day's sentence to death, all thanks to Ms. Iparis (Who's called June on the screens, but Ms. Iparis fits nicer.) and KIRBY. I'm not forgiving that pink idiot until he apoligizes, which I bet never happens.

"So Dee," Blade tells me, "Why'd you fight with Kirby?"

"I was friends with Day," I replied, "and made Kirby promise to not tell Ms. Iparis how I know it's him. Unfortunately, when I wasn't looking, he took her straight to me and Day, and now he's locked up."

"I thought Day was a criminal?"

"Not always. He saved me from lack of air in the sewers, which isn't what a criminal would do, right?"

"Not really. Wait, didn't the Aeon Hero do something similar?"

"Teach said that our ancestors were treated kindly, but then he went corrupt. Doesn't seem similar. Heh."

We reach a closet, with the words "bean man" horribly scribbled on sticky note sticking on the door. 

"Let us in." Blade Knight seems calm in this, despite the trouble he could get in.

Then a similar voice appears.
"Knock."

Blade walks up the the door, and knocks to the tune of the king's theme. "Dedede's Theme," to be exact. The door opens, and I see Dedede in a corner, while Magalor is using his portable dashboard.

"S- sire? Magalor?" I say. Magalor is too busy in something, while Dedede turns around and runs to hug me.

"Bandana Waddle Dee! If this isn't a treat, I don't know what is!" The warmth of sire's hugs always make me feel better, and I forget about Kirby for a bit. He then lets me go and gives a pat on the back to Blade Knight. "Blade-o! How's it going? Any news from Meta Knight?" 

"Well," he replies, "we've convince more people to join the colonies, and assigned more enemies to check out the place. No idea why, but this place feels similar..."

"Gotta admit, it does." Magalor is finally paying attention. "Like we've been here before. How are ya, Bandana?"

"Fine, fine." Something snaps in me, like I need to know what Kirby is doing. "How's Kirby?"

"Kirby? Yeah, he inhaled a shot bullet. Now don't worry, he's okay, but when he tried inhaling the bullet, it somehow duplicated. The original is stuck somewhere inside Kirby, while the copy shot Day's mother to the head. It might be due to his friend's throw."

This gets me back to my bad mood. Wow, he found new friends! I don't care. I won't care and I never will. It's his fault that Day's gonna die now. But then I think something. If we free Day, we can get him to Dream Land, and then we'll have a big feast without Kirby! It's genius! I wipe my bad mood away and continue listening to Magalor patiently.

"Kirby is currently still asleep. Gotta go visit him with Dedede to make sure he's really okay. However, I have something important for you, Bandana." He hands me and Blade Knight fancy clothes. "There's gonna be some kind of ball or party, which ever one it is, but it'll be in celebration on capturing Day, this famous criminal. We need you and Blade this evening to pay this little feast."

Blade Knight nods, and so do I. I know where Kirby will be.



It's about 4:30pm? 4 o'clock? Man, time is weird in this universe. I haven't worn something fancy every since Kirby's 25th birthday. While I wear a simple red bowtie and tophat, which seems to be different from the other waddle dees at the ball for some reason, Blade Knight seems to be decked out in a full-on fancy suit, topped with a tie. He's currently pretending to be some guy called "Jordan," who invited me as the plus-one, named "Bone." They sound impressive, but they seem too obvious that we're not actually part of the Republican team. To be honest, I'm actually having a good time, talking with other people and residents of Dream Land. 

Then I bump into him. Kirby.

"Bandana?" He says in his kirby language as he worringly looks at me. I try to turn away, but Dedede was there, and he would smash me to pieces if I do it. All I give is a angry face as the king and Blade step aside to talk about this place. "Look, I didn't reveal Day to June, I promise-"

"How can you be so sure?" I reply, crossing my short arms, "You got proof?"

"I'm telling you, as your best friend, I didn't do it. You've got to trust me."

"Oh, like your new friend who threw you at that bullet? I wouldn't do that as your friend!"

"We did that like about six times before..."

"Point is, Kirby, you'll need a bigger apology. I have a new plan now, and I won't tell you."

"Could you at least give me a chance?"

We both look around. Don't know what Kirby's thinking, but everyone else is too distracted to see us.

"One minute." I say.

Kirby takes a big puff of air. "I didn't mean to hurt you anyway, Bandana. I woke up from my fainting, and June was just standing right there, forcing me to watch you and Day. It wasn't my fault that Day was caught, it was her. I'll do anything as your friend to prove I didn't mean it. But if only you'd forgive me..."

I still look angry at Kirby. He seems desprate to get us back together. What I don't realize is that he pulls out a locket from his top hat (he seems similar to my clothing) and opens it up. A picture of me, Kirby, Dedede, and Meta Knight is inside, along with a familiar tune.

The Apple Juice Song. Kirby wrote it for me to sing when my birthday rolled around.

Kirby starts to sing along as he sadly watches the picture. 

"Apple juice, make lot's of it... Fresh-picked apples, there's so many of them..."

Something urges me to join along. "Take all of the ingredients, and mix and mash them, apples and lemons, honey and protein..."

"If I drink this every day, I'll be strong too, oh, I wanna be brawny too someday..." He's slowly smiling. We eventually start singing together.

"Apple Juice, let's drink it all in big gulps, so that I don't lost to this kid, I'll get stronger! Serious battles, everyone let's have some fun!"

My anger starts flying away. "I've trained, so I'm a bit different from the others. The secret to victory, carved into my own soul, skill and power, the warrior-training kind of experience... With this, if I win against that kid, I'll finally be all grown up..."

"Oh, Kirby. I didn't realize you didn't mean to do anything. I was just too found of my savior, and..."

He ignores me and hugs me with tears. I hug back.

We're finally friends again.
