Bandana Dee

I have absolutely no idea if this is going to work.

We talked about it yesterday, and Tedhaun and I decided to do it, for him. Tess called it: our "No-Step-Yet Plan," which I can fully agree on, since we DON'T have any steps to do yet. The three of us are already walking back, discussing this plan. Tedhaun stated that he can just could just throw a Ghost Ability Essence at Day, but we had to remind him that Day isn't a enemy, he's a human. Then we had the smart idea of bombing the headquarters, but after some searching, there wern't any Poppy Bros nor Bomb Ability Essences around. We were desperate, and our plan was crumbling down, that was until we actually saw the headquarters again. Some protesters, I assume, but one of them seemed to be an Axe Knight. In face, I KNOW this guy. He's Ax Hax, a Axe Knight I was friends with during my spear training. Paired up with another fighting machine, Ax in this case. I run up, leaving Tess and Tedhaun behind.

"Hey, Ax Hax! What's going on?" I ask him.

"Bandana!" he says joyfully, turning around. "Haven't see you for a long time! Listen, I got a favor out here. I have no idea where I am."

"I think it was called the Republic of America?"

"Well, that's one side-favor done. But like, I have a major favor." Ax nods his head towards a young boy, and he comes over. "Bandana, meet Harold. A 13 year old boy with skills basically mine and yours combined!"

Harold is kinda younger than the guy I met during that ball. Ginger, glasses, and a little scar on his left ear. Bet I'll be great friends with him!

"Why hello, Bandana! I've heard plenty of great things about you from Ax!" He shakes my hand. "And I see you already made some other friends, too!" I notce Tess and Tedhaun have already caught up.

"Bandana," Tedhaun says before taking a gasp, "you could of- *GASP* least warned us..."

Tess turns toward Tedhaun. "You're a ghost, you don't even have lungs. Why are you tired, exactly? Way too easy coming over here."

"Not exactly in the greatest shape..."

"It was like 48 seconds."

"Like I said, not in the greatest shape..."

I interrupt their argument. "Guys, I want you to meet Ax, and a new friend, Harold!" Harold holds up a hand with a chuckle.

"We'll introduce ourselves to each other later. Ax, not gonna continue talking to Bandana about that favor?"

Ax seems distracted, but gets himself back together once Harold touches his shoulder. "Right, right. I've heard from the protesters there's this guy who needs to be freed. I don't know from what, or why we're doing it, but I just need to know. Two of these protesters even has this red streak on his hair, like twins, despite them not actually being that. I've heard Blade Knight was able to pose you as a soldier and get you in with him to communicate with sire and my leader, truely. You think you can go in and check?"

I suddenly get an idea.

"Sure, just let me talk to my other friends quickly." I guide Tess and Tedhaun away to a alleyway very close. Like it was only thirty steps away.

"Look," I start, "if we can find out how Day is being manipulated, we can find the weakspot to bust him out. All while we do Ax's favor."

Tedhaun nods his head. "With every strong thing, there's a weak point. What would that be, though?"

Tess just looks like it wouldn't work at first, but then she agrees. "Tedhaun, round up remaning meta-knights and waddle dees wiling to join who aren't in the Patriots. Bandana will go get the information, and I use that information to find the weakspot, bring it down, and get Day out of there."

"Heh," Tedhaun replies, "Guess we should rename it to the 'Three Sided Plan,' should we?"

"Now's not the time we rename stuff. You guys ready to do this immediately?"

The others nod their head. We return to Ax and Harold, where I notice about four more people have joined, one of them also with a red strain in their hair.

"So, is that a yes?" Harold immediately asks.

"Yep. We'll get you that information, with no extra cost!" I hold my spear up with pride.

I've roamed around the HQ for a while with Blade. It's currently about ten or eleven right now. I dunno, I can't tell the time from these weird fasion clocks. Where are those rioters?! No matter, the show, or in this case, the plan, must go on. That is, until I've heard shouting outside. It's them. Blade is running toward some window to find out what's going on.

Step 1 Complete.

I run as soon as I get the chance and keep running. The constant checking of cells trying to find Day, most of them no luck. I stumble upon a raised platform, noticing Ms. Iparis and what I assume is her sibling from the ball before, and quickly hid. I'm not gonna reveal myself now, and I notice a waddle dee standing there like a soldier. Doing something I've never done before, I quickly grabbed the dee, took him to the bathroom, and beat him up to swapped our clothes. He seems dizzy from being beaten up, but it's important. Sorry buddy. I hide my spear and ripped bandana, then go back to the raised platform before anyone notices the soldier missing. A helmet and a gun?! This isn't what a normal waddle dee would've wanted for a job?! I'll learn about this later, but for now, I have a plan to do.

The possible sibling is already speaking. "...of fools. If they don't back down soon, the commanders will make them regret it."

I try my best to look over what's going on. I see a bunch of rioters this time, about 1/4 of them have the red streak in their hair, and half of them are knights and waddle dees. This is going great! Tedhaun's part has been done, now we just wait for mine so Tess' can start.

"See that pitful bunch?" The sibling(?) asks Ms. Iparis while pointing at something, "A poor choice for a hero. Day will be dead in less than a week."

I'm trying to get a better look. No idea what he's pointing at, but I can hear shouting, and another familiar sound that surprises me. Lor Starcutter. No idea what the heck it's doing there, and why. I thought we weren't supposed to tell our plan, but I calmed myself down before fully panicing. One star, a soldier's injured. One tornado attack, reality is dead. Some Axe Knights, along with Ax and Harold, are trying to use their weapons to break in. All the Javelin Knights are just poking each other while also poking at the soldiers, and most of the humans are doing nothing but STILL protesting. Welp, this is pathetic.

"What's Commander Jameson telling you?"

"She says to stay put and wait for her command."

A few minutes roll by before the other waddle dee comes up to me.

"Just got the commander's, well, command. Get to the armory, then get some weapons, go to the top of the buildings, and shoot them. Got it?"

I try to hide my scared face, which I must've done a good job of. "Got it. Let's go."

Thank Nova Blade Knight took me here before, or I would've been suspicous and get caught. I gotta run with THIS plan first, and then I'll be able to knock Day out of his cell. The armory was surprisingly fit for even a Gordo. Little small black tassels, cute jackets with a white stripe diagonally, and a gray armband. I put on this stuff, along with this gun that resembles the Star Rod, then follow the other waddle dee towards the roofs. Man, it's even worse around here. For starters, I see a couple of spider webs from Comos- all opened up from someone breaking out. NESPs are throwing Rockys, and one Donpuff is already dead inside, letting a bunch of soldiers beat him up. Horrifying.

"Alright, when you hear 'fire,' we shoot at the protesters. Our first target is that thing." He's pointing towards Tedhaun, who is basically leading the protest. Man, these soldiers are somehow stupid in this place, but I'm gonna have to follow orders if I want the plan to go well. Surely enough, I hear "Fire at will!" shouting out from the HQ, and we shoot. Tedhaun doesn't really notice luckly, since again, he's already dead. Nothing compares to the horror I've seen, though. Blood. Gunshots. Yelling. I've heard one or two Bombers already explode to protect theirself and I'm sure a Walky gave some people bleeding ears. In the end, I quickly count all of the dead protesters up. 98, 99, 100... wait, hold on, 156. Half of them are from Pop Star. Man, usually I wouldn't worry, since we can always regenerate them either by Dedede's Monster Teleportation Machine or just getting our view away from their original spot, then looking back. Unfortunately, this isn't Pop Star. They're really dead. Hopefully this plan works.

I'm already walking towards one of the elevators while already in my old clothing, disappointed at what my acquaintances have become. Murders. Sure, they try to stop Kirby from time to time, but they're not necessarily killing him- Just throwing him off to teleport back at the start. I don't want to imagine the blood spilling everywhere, and gladly, I forget about that once I FINALLY find Day's cell. Well, to be more accurate, Day himself. He's being dragged on Kirby and another waddle dee. I look confused, and Kirby just shoots me a happy face, waving his free hand at me. I wave back, of course. Then some other soldiers take Day out of their hands and takes him down another hall. The waddle dee walks away, but I rush along with Kirby to find out what the heck is going on. A clear glass window in front of a room. I've seen interrogation rooms like this before, of course.

Static comes out of Kirby's earpiece. (Wait, he doesn't even have ears, how does he have an earpiece?) Something about the captain and questions that usually don't get asked in Dream Land. I'm standing silently with Kirby. Something about the other soldiers inside the room tell us we're dead if we even move a muscle. Time keeps passing, and I still hear the shouts and guns from my head. Eventually, I hear some footsteps. It's the weird sibling thing from before. Kirby gives a angry face. Does this puffball get angry or what? Woo. Surprisingly, Magalor is there, too.

"Mr. Wing, what a pleasure to formally meet you." he starts. "I was beginning to worry that I'd never get the chance."

Day doesn't reply.

"So," Magalor continues, "We were told to ask you some questions about procedural stuff before you get killed by what these guys call 'weapons.' We're trying to keep it cordial, and I'm sorry for breaking that already by getting on the wrong foot."

"Really? You think so?" Day chuckles, but for some reason, I sense fear.

Neither of the three continue. Magalor pulls out his dashboard and grows a screen towards one of the walls.

"𝕃𝕠𝕒𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘 ℙ𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕔𝕖 ℝ𝕖𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕥 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝔽𝕚𝕝𝕖𝕤... 𝕃𝕠𝕒𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕖."

"I'm going to show you a series of photos, Mr. Wing," Thomas speaks up. "The people you'll see are suspected of Patriot involvement." Uh oh, sounds bad. Luckly, the photos that pop up aren't anyone that is my friend in some sort of way. Even Harold isn't there, and that's impressive. It's basically the same answer between the three. See this guy? Nope. Move on. And yet, these guys seem familiar, like I've seen them before, which I clearly haven't.

Then someone exactly familiar pops up. It's Kaede, pretty much Meta Knight's second partner in crime. Thank Nova there's no evidence for this, or we're all dead.

"Look," Day says, "If I knew any of these people, do you really think I'd tell you?"

"Well then," Magalor continues, "that'll be all. Thanks for your cooperation."

"Oh, come on, that's not all." He gives a death stare at the man. "I can tell you'd give anything to take a swing at me. So do it. I dare you."

"My orders were to ask you a series of questions," the Man botherly replies. "That's it. We're done here."

"Why? You afraid of me or something? Only brave enough to shoot people's mothers?"

Magalor is rushingly putting the Lor's dashboard away, and already left. Kirby just looks sad now, and I'm curious to where this is going.

"She's just one less slum con to deal with."

Day spits right on the man's face, for some reason reminding me of Kabula when she had to fight Kirby. I suppose saliva and burps (or was it minty breaths?) are different in this case. The man fights back by throwing his left fist on Day's jaw.

"Think you're a star, don't you? Just because you pulled some pranks and played charity worker to some street scum? Well, let me tell you a secret. I'm from a poor sector too..."

For some reason, that's kinda funny to me. What'd mostly happens in Pop Star is WAY worse than what happens here.

"...But I followed the rules. I worked my way up, I earned my country's respect. The rest of you people just sit around and complain and blame the state for your bad luck. Bunch of dirty, lazy cons."

Rest of you people? Sit around and complain and blame the state? Bah, this guy doesn't know the darn things I've seen. I stop myself from giggling while the man punches Day once more, and grabs him by the collar. He's already bleeding, but I ignore that. Then, here comes the really stupid part that makes me crack up.

"Ms. Iparis told me about what you did to her on the streets. How dare you force yourself onto someone of her rank."

I can't stop myself now. I let out a little chuckle, but Kirby smacks his gun on my non-existant mouth before I go any further. Smart guy. Anyways, that's what got the man down? The fact that he's wanting a girl who's probably gonna break up within 2 hours makes this all seem pathetic. Listen, I've heard of the whole story between Taranza and Sectonia, and their love story was better than what ever this is. I keep my thoughts to myself "Aww! Little man is feelin' down! Wanting her bad, in need of a mate! Heh, we see the local problem guy in his natural habitat: a interrogation room." I guess me and Day got the same mindset, because he replies similarly to what I said.

"She's looking forward to your execution, Mr. Wing," the man says, all fired up like a Acchi. "I can guarantee you that."

"Sore loser, huh? Here, I'll make you feel better. I'll tell you all about what it was like. Hearing about it is the next best thing, isn't it?"

I can't stop myself. I laugh. The man quickly notes this.

"You. Get out. You're now arrested. This is no laughing matter, and anyone disrespecting our community can join this idiot. Kirby, take him to a cell."

Kirby quickly rushes me out of the interrogation room with a scared face. I already here shouting from the man, with some banging still. Rough guy, huh?

"K- Kirby!" I say, "You're not-"

"I'm not, silly, but now I gotta do something else about you. It WAS pretty funny how jealous Thomas was, but we'll need to be more careful."

Man, Kirby gets me. This is why we're best friends! We'll have to put SOMEONE in a cell, or this Thomas guy will find out about us. Luckly, I remember the waddle dee I've beaten up earlier, and used some extra clothing to dress him up, then locked him in a cell.

"Heh," I say, "Glad I can just take different clothing and fool everyone."

"No matter. Now we'll just need to use a new name," Kirby replies. "Does Jerry fit nicely?"

I nod my head. Jerry. Sounds like a nice name.
