I don't really like love.
Something about it weirdens me out. Like c'mon, those "kisses" people do are done also by birds to FEED each other food. Pretty much the entirety of Dream Land knows that I don't enjoy love, so sometimes they do stuff in secret. Marriages? Not as bad, they don't hurt me that much. I could see right there that Day (The name of the boy, yeah Bandana told me.) almost tried to kiss June, and I would've ran away if not for Bandana Dee to calm me down.
Anyways, it's currently morning time, with the sun reminding me of Mr. Shine. Now that I wonder, I think I saw some hands near it. We're all searching for opportunities to make money. Pickpocketing police, searching through trash to resell stuff (we used Bandana's unlimited source of bandanas to sell them too,) pry open unguarded pier crates, y'know, the usual activities of most Dream Land villagers.
After that, we find a new spot to camp. Another alley, nothing special. We were able to steal some bottles of this thing called wine. I've seen this stuff before, and it's DISGUSTING. Luckly, I was able to bubble up a twelve-pack case of milk, just for me and Bandana Dee. Tess (the other girl) is currently sleeping on Day's vest again a short distance away. Currently, me and Bandana are drinking a bottle of milk each.
Bandana starts. "I wonder how this milk was ported here! It tastes similar to the ones back home!"
"I know!" I reply in my non-english language, "Is it some kind of fancy transportation device or they just make the same milk without knowing?"
Me and Bandana look at each other, and then laugh in disbelief. Bandana notices the other two sharing a bottle of wine, and he tells me to turn and look. I see Day and June just taking turns with the bottle, even though we were able to steal a whole case of bottles.
"Why are they sharing?" I ask Bandana.
"No idea. Maybe it's a new trend?" he shrugged.
"Don't see how it's a trend..." I respond.
There was some kind of pattern out of it. Large inhales (like me) from the male, small sips (like Bandana Dee) from the female. Eventually, June stirs up a question for the tough guy.
"So tell me," she asks, "Why do you need so much money?"
Day laughs. "Is that a serious question? Don't we all want more money?"
"You like answering all my questions with your own questions?"
He laughs again and talks the whole "money can buy you happiness" thing in a sad tone. Trust me, the only happiness you can buy is ice cream.
I speak up and Bandana translates. "Seems like you're in a BIIGG hurry in stocking up, aren't ya?"
"Why would I be? You three have probably lived on the streets as long as I have. You should know the answer to that, yeah?"
Me and Bandana Dee looked confused while June seems to look down sadly. "I guess so."
We all sit in silence. During that, I could've sworn I saw something that looked like Lor Starcutter, Magalor's ship, but I keep quiet and promise myself to investigate later.
Finally, Day starts up another conversation, this time at June. "I don't know if anyone's ever told you this. You're very attractive."
Ok, screw this, I know where this is going, and I don't care if I need to stay to go home.
"I could say the same thing about you." June pauses. "In case you didn't know."
"Oh, trust me, I know."
I'm off and running, but Bandana uses an extra bandana to lasso me back into place. I can see something in his eye. He wants me to get over my fear. I feel like screaming, but I can't get myself to get Bandana jailed in. Bandana makes sure I stay while the other two continue talking.
"Nice to hear something honest. Well, I've think you've had too much wine, my friend.A slittle sleep will do you good." June tries to keep her voice as light as possible. At this rate, I'm trying to untie the bandana off while Bandana Dee is distracted. It felt exactly like the time I had to run (or basically roll) away from Bombers just so Paint Roller wouldn't kill me. He eventually notices.
"Bandana, please..." I say as he ties me back, "You don't have to do this. You KNOW how much I hate stuff like this."
"Look, Kirby, they're pretty much the only ones who can help us escape, and I know they're gonna do this a lot. If you wanna get back home, you have to face your fear." I'm screaming inside, and then, Day and June kiss.
I faint.
It's currently night. I notice that Day and Bandana are missing, while June is standing in front of me pulling me up. The two of us follow Day and Bandana Dee into a "quarantine zone" with a bunch of rickety houses. And then I see the house I had the strange thought of.
The Triple Lined X House. The one I sprayed with William.
We wait nearby, with me hoping that Bandana isn't some kind of criminal. They reappear later. June climbs to the roof of a nearby building while I fly with her. We crouch near the shadow of a chimney and she turns her mike on.
"Thomas, we found him."
I worringly say a poyo that doesn't translate well.
Thomas speaks from the mike a minute later. "Can you repeat that, Ms. Iparis?"
At that point, I don't dare to look. My best friend, helping a criminal? I could keep the secret for longer if this idiot beside me didn't force me to come with her! I angerly do a silent poyo, which once again translates to nothing.
"I said we found him. Day. He just visited a house in one of Lake's quarantine zones, a house with a three lined X on it's door. Corner of Figueroa and Watson."
I remember back to William and Lancer. Would they really be proud of me if I put this guy and Bandana behind bars to DIE? No, I can't take it. I run back to the alley with anger. Bandana won't like this. None of my friend would like this. I know June barely did anything to me and Bandana, but then I theorize...
This girl is a traitor.
