I can't believe I found Bandana all this time.
Yeesh, last time I saw Bandana Dee he looked just like your normal waddle dee with a bandana. Now he seems like some kind of rusted up oil can. I guess my worried face for him made him worried too, since that girl stabbed me over at the Skiz fight. I haven't experienced blood for a long time. Actually, I haven't seen my own blood EVER.
Currently, me and Bandana are camping on top of a balcony of an old libary along with June, and some mysterious boy & girl. I have no idea what to do after this, since I'm supposed to be arresting Day. But seeing Bandana worry about me just made me HAVE to talk about where he was.
"So," I say in a type of language only the people from our own home can understand, "it's been a bit since we met, haven't we?"
Bandana Dee chuckles. "Found Kawasaki in a bar, ate some shrimp, worring about you fighting Kaede and Sectonia's Soul." He grabs a bandana from thin air and uses it to heal my wound. "You?"
"Made new friends as usual, then finally owned a gun, and now I'm pared with that girl over there to capture some criminal." I point at June, who's wound was being cleaned up by the other girl.
We both look at them, and they're currently introducing theirself. Now, at first when I was able to get together with Bandana again, they were suspecting I was some kind of traitor guy or something. But after the other girl tried giving puppy eyes to the boy (which I kinda got into, too,) he basically let us in the team.
People who don't understand my language has to get help from my friends, since they can speak their language, and understand mine. We sat with the girls, talking about our lives in general (it seems like June is lying about some parts, but that's fine,) and then soon the boy comes over.
"We'll stay here for the night. How are you feeling?" he asked.
I watch as tries June to tell the boy she's ok, but clearly she's in a state of pain. So am I, but thanks to my friendship with Bandana Dee, it hurts massively less. I look back at Bandana Dee while the other three kept talking.
"What do you think Dedede and Meta Knight are up to?" I told Bandana Dee.
"Probably trying to save us. Maybe pick up a Dream Friend or two. Marx?"
I bump his non-existand shoulder with mine. "Heh, you wish I want help by that jester again."
"So, how does the gun work?"
"I think it's basically the Archer ability but a bit harder to use at first. Once you get the hang of it, it's easier."
"Ahh, I see."
At this point, the other girl went to get water, and the boy sat down next to June. The four of us kinda just sat there, but soon I got really bored and tried to play one of my favorite games with Bandana.
"Hey Bandana. Poyo-cakes, poyo-cakes..." I shove my own hands out. "Cookin there..."
He joins in with me. "Cook me some burgers, not short as Doo's hair..." We start clapping our hands more. "Shortcakes, and Cherries, and some Roast Chicken too, and make enough for the waddle dees and me, Woo!" The both of us laugh quietly in joy.
I notice the boy is talking to June about some kind of Lake sector. I have been to a lake before, obviously, to kill a Hooplagoon, a robotic being. But the whole sector thing these guys are talking about make no sense to me.
"Tanagashi is pretty far away," the boy says, "You came all the way here to see a Skiz fight?"
"Of course not," June replies, "I scavenge on the streets. I end up traveling a lot."
Bandana decides to speak up. "Well me and Kirby like to travel too! Ooh, Kirby!" He turns to look at me. "Remember when you traveled the entirety of Pop Star to de-robotize the entire planet? Good times."
I give him a dissapointed look and a bored poyo. The dude barely helped me, but at least the Reviving Tomatos were useful. I talk some more with my kirby talk. "At least you were helpful when Dream Land's color went away..."
"Huh," says the boy, "Seems like you two REALLY aren't from here." He looks at me and Bandana, but I can kinda sense he was trying to talk about June. "Hey puffy, how about you? Why'd you come here?"
I speak up, explaining the portal problem, and the war, but neither the boy nor June understand me.
See, this is why I'm friends with Bandana. He easily explains our troubles, but I'm starting to think these two aren't really trusting me, since the boy laughs a bit and just shifts her head a bit in confusion.
"Well, what ever both you and this girl are doing, you gotta be careful. Lake isn't safe right now. You might catch the plague down here."
I didn't worry too much, since basically me and Bandana Dee were invincible, uh, excluding my knife cut. Eventually, we drifted off to sleep. Finally, one step closer into capturing Day. The morning comes, and Bandana is trying to do a dance he'd do with the other waddle dees on Dedede's birthday. He loves doing it, cause he knows how much it makes me laugh, since it seems very silly.
"Morning, Kirby!" Bandana says as he keeps dancing at bit more, "How'd ya sleep?"
I start giggling. "Fine, but lets save my laughs for later, ok?"
He stops with a non-existant smile. "Sure, Kirbs!"
I find the boy on a corner near the balcony. He says something that scares me.
"I hope you two don't mind waiting a few hours before eating. We lost the Skiz bet, so there's no money left for food right now."
Those words left me out saddened. No food? How am I supposed to eat now? I should've saved the Energy Drink Kawasaki gave me... Bandana Dee sat with me and tightened my hand to make sure it was ok.
"Look Kirby," he said, "I've seen you get from the start of a world straight to the end without eating anything-"
"But I was just very fast..." I replied sadly.
"-Look, it's gonna be ok. You can hold some hunger for some more time, right?"
"Yeah, I guess so..." Bandana lets go of my hand.
We both start just starring at each other, but eventually we started to make silly faces, and we were joyed again.
Bandana soon overhears something from June who excused herself to apparently go to the water source.
"Hey Kirby..." Bandana asked me, "You hear that?"
Eventually, I heard her too.
"Yeah..."
The both of us went down to investigate. We carefully hid ourselves enough to listen, but also to hide like Shadow Kirby.
"...me and Kirby got a minor injury in a Skiz fight. Nothing serious."
I notice she's talking to Thomas into the mike. I apparently have one too, but I wasn't able to locate it anywhere yet. I heard a sigh from the mike.
"Well you're not going to go that long again with your mike off, you hear me?"
"Fine."
"Did you two find anything yet."
"Not sure. A boy and girl helped me out of the Skiz chaos, along with some orange thing."
I can see the anger in Bandana as he hears that. In fact, I could even know what he's thinking. Probably something like "I'm not just some thing! I'm part of the Dedede Army!" We hid there as June kept talking to Thomas.
"The girl bandaged both our wounds up. We're staying with them temporarily until I can walk better."
"Walk better? What kind minor injuries are these?"
"Just a knife wound, one each. No big deal. Anyway, that's not the point. The boy made a fancy little dust bomb to get us out of the Skiz mob. He has some skills. I don't know who he is, but I'll get more information."
Then Thomas asks something that shivers Bandana Dee's short spine for some reason.
"Think he's Day? Day doesn't seem like the kind of boy who goes around saving people."
"No, I don't think so."
Bandana quietly did a sigh of relief. June lowered her voice, and we had to get a bit closer, risking our lives probably.
"But they might know something about Day."
"Well, be careful, you two. Commander Jameson says to keep you on your mission if both of your injuries aren't bothering you too much. She's preoccupied with the patrol right now. But I'm warning you two. If you or Mr. Puffball's mike go dark again for more than a few hours, I'm going to send soldiers after you - whether or not it blows your covers. Understand?"
At that point, I flew Bandana back to the balcony.
"What's she talking about?" Bandana whispers, trying not to alarm the other girl.
"Look, we're here to capture Day, but..."
"But he saved me early! If it wasn't for him, I could've died stuck in the bag, inside the sewers."
"I'm not so sure..."
"Look, is capturing some guy really worth it to get us back home to Dream Land?"
"Well, I guess not...""Ok, Kirby, promise me you won't alarm that 'Iparis' girl that Day is literally that boy?"
"Well, the stuff we do for friendship, right?" I smile at Bandana. He happily smiles back.
I promise, Bandana Dee. I'm not gonna tell about Day to June. Really.
