The next day we all gathered for the weekly Sunday dinner and even though we are newlyweds we still sit at the little kiddy table.
"Guys, why don't you all come sit over here today?" Worth said.
"We are good over here dad." Poppy said.
"Well none of you are kids anymore lets just put the table together." He said.
I stood up and helped Worth carry the table over and put it beside the long one.
When Poppy walked out of the house she looked confused and then laughed when she saw me sitting beside her dad.
"Oooh, we get to be big kids today?" She asked.
I laughed... "We sure do."
"Poppy it's about time that you guys sit with us old people. I mean you are the next generation." Worth laughed.
"Is this you asking in a roundabout way for grandkids Worth?" Daniel laughed.
'Well maybe." He laughed.
Everyone came out and sit down. I looked over at mom and she was smiling like a Cheshire Cat. I'm assuming that Holland gave her the lipgloss.
There was so much food on the table that I couldn't put another bite into my mouth. It was so hot out that I couldn't drink enough water.
I looked around and watched everyone eating and laughing and it's hard to even think about all these people are my family.
Coming from a small family I wouldn't know what to do with all these people but I do love each one of them.
"Are you daydreaming?" Poppy asked poking my side.
"Just looking around at everyone and wondering how it would be to come from a large family," I said.
"I mean it was just me and Hart but I have all of these aunts and uncles around and it was fun growing up." She smiled.
Mom walked over and sit down beside Poppy. "Oh, Poppy these colors are fabulous!"
"I'm so glad that you like them Daisy!" Poppy said.
"I tell everyone about your lipgloss and who my son is married to." Mom smiled.
"Well did mom tell you that we are having another signing with these lipglosses?" Poppy asked.
"She did and you know I will be there in line." Mom laughed.
"Well, Luke and I will be there." Poppy said.
"Wait I have to be there again?" I asked.
"Oh, Luke you know you have to be there." Poppy said.
Clara walked over and put some brownies in front of us. "You know I had to make these for you guys."
"Aww, Clara that's nice of you. Thank you for thinking of us." I said.
"Anything for my favorite couple." She said winking.
I look over at Poppy and smirk. "I do believe Clara likes me better than you."
She leans over and shoves me with her arm. "Hush she said her favorite couple." Poppy laughed.
"Yeah what's up with that Clara? You tell us all we are your favorite." Derrick said.
The whole table laughed. "She just told me yesterday Rosa and I were her favorite," Austin said.
"I've always been the favorite though." Worth said.
"I think I'll just take my leave now." Clara laughed walking to the kitchen door.
We finished eating and Poppy wanted to help clear the table so after telling my parents goodbye I went to check on the animals and let Romeo run around a little bit.
When Poppy walked up on the porch she was holding her stomach.
"What's wrong Poppy?"
"My stomach is hurting pretty bad. I think something didn't agree with me." She said walking inside.
I was changing clothes getting ready for bed when I heard her throwing up in the toilet. I went to check on her and she was hugging the toilet sitting on the floor.
"Wonder what it was?" I asked.
"Who knows I ate so much stuff, Luke." She said before throwing up again.
I grabbed a washcloth and wetted it and put it on her head and held her hair back as she continued to puke.
"I need some of that anti-nausea meds that mom keeps in the cabinet." She said.
"Let me text your mom and asked and I'll run get it," I said.
📱 Holland do you have any anti-nausea meds up there at the main house? Poppy is really sick throwing up.
📱 I do have it. I'll have Worth bring it down.
📱 It's fine I'll run up and meet you at the door. Thanks!
"I'll be right back Poppy," I said as she continued to throw up.
I ran outside and up the hill to the main house and walked into the kitchen and Holland was getting it out of the cabinet.
"Here you go, Luke. I really hope she feels better. What's wrong?"
"Not sure to be honest. She came home saying her stomach hurt and has been puking ever since. Not sure if it was something she ate." I said
"Well, you better get going, Luke."
"Thanks, Holland!" I said running out the door and back down the hill.
When I walked into the house I could hear her still puking her guts out. I went in the bathroom and she was still sitting on the floor and Romeo was sitting beside her with his paw on her leg.
"Here I got the stuff to drink it when you can. Anything else I can do for you Poppy?" I asked.
"Maybe just some water, please? So I can take some of this." She said taking the washcloth off of her head.
I got her some water and handed her the bottle of meds and set it on the floor opposite her.
"Luke you can go to bed you don't have to sit on the floor with me while I puke." She said before throwing up again.
"I'm staying by your side. Let me wet your washcloth again." I said standing up.
I wet her washcloth and held her hair back as she puked again.
