I was making my bed when there was a knock at the door. I went to open it and when I did Luke was standing there smiling from ear to ear.
"Come in!" I smiled.
"Well, that went better than expected." He said grabbing me picking me up and spinning me around.
I looked at him... "It did? What did dad say?"
"Your dad said If I cared about you as much as he thinks that I had his permission but he would like for me to ask your mom and I did and well she hugged me." He laughed.
"She did? So they are ok with us dating?" I asked.
"They are ok and your dad was blown away by it and impressed because I asked. But we don't have to tell them we already had sex." He laughed.
"Yeah, let's keep that to ourselves. So want a brownie? Clara brought me some." I smiled.
"Sure let's share a brownie and then I'll get your tv on the wall for you." He said.
We went to the kitchen and I poured some milk and grabbed the container of brownies and we went to the table to eat.
"It's weird having my own place but I'm excited to stay here tonight for the first night," I said.
"Are you going to be ok alone? I mean I don't think it would be ok for me to stay over but you can keep Romeo if you want." He said.
"Yeah, I think I will be ok. If I can stay in that big house alone I'm sure I can stay here but having Romeo would make it easier I think." I smiled.
"Remind me to get him before I leave." He said finishing his brownie.
While Luke hung the tv in the living room I went to make my bed when there was a knock on the door.
I went opened the door and it was Dad. "Hi, dad come in."
"What's going on in here?" He asked.
"Luke is hanging the tv and I was making my bed. He's going to let me keep Romeo for tonight so I won't be alone." I said.
"Oh, that will be nice. Don't spoil that dog too much." Dad laughed following me to the bedroom.
"I appreciate you and mom permitting Luke to pursue me. I really like him dad and really I'm just falling for him and he is me." I said while finishing making the bed.
"I'm happy for you Poppy. Just don't let your relationship get between the animals." Dad said.
"Never dad. We both love this Ranch and these animals." I said.
"I'm glad to hear that because someday this Ranch will be yours. You are the one that is the most passionate about it, Poppy." He said.
I walked over and hugged him... "I love you, dad."
"I love you too sweetheart. Now enjoy your first night in your place and call if you need anything." He said.
We walked back into the living room and Luke was talking to mom. "This place looks cute Poppy I love it." Mom said.
"Thanks, mom! It's weird for sure but I'll be ok." I smiled.
"I know you will because Romeo is staying with you and you also have this nice young man to keep you safe." Mom laughed.
"Mom!"
Dad laughed... "Well yeah I mean there are a lot of babies around this place and let's hold off for you Poppy."
"Dad! Sheesh, would you two leave, please? If I want to have a child that's my decision." I said.
"Oh, and mine," Luke smirked.
"Goodnight you two," Dad said laughing as he closed the door.
When they left I shook my head. "They mean well I swear."
"I'm not bothered by it, Poppy. I'm just glad they know and are ok with us dating." He said.
"Is that what we are? Dating Luke?" I asked as my phone rang.

☎️ Hey girl how's it going? Sorry, I haven't texted you I've been busy.
☎️ So have I. We have a lot to catch up on. Think you guys could come over to dinner soon? I want to show you my new place.
☎️ New Place? Poppy what's going on?
☎️ A lot since we talked last. I'm dating someone and Dad let me move into one of the houses on the Ranch.
☎️ Shut the front door!!! Dating someone? Who? Do I know him?
☎️ Slow down Lilly! Yes, you met him at my graduation party. It's Luke the vet who lives on the Ranch.
☎️ Wow, he was a cutie. I'm happy for you. Both of us are off tomorrow we can bring pizza and get to know Luke.
☎️ Sure sounds fun I can't wait to see you and show you my new place.
☎️ Is 7 pm ok?

"So Lilly and Garth are coming over tomorrow evening with pizza."
"Sounds good. I guess it will be like a double date." He laughed.
"I guess so Luke." I smiled as he shortened the gap between us and kissed me.
"I better get home and grab Romeo and let you settle in for the night. I'm just next door if you need me." He said.
"I appreciate it, Luke," I said smiling at him.
I sit down on the couch and looked around when Luke came back with Romeo.
As soon as he saw me he wagged his tail and ran over to me.
"Romeo usually sleeps on the bed with me so he will sleep with you and he's no bother at all," Luke said.
"Thanks, I'm sure I'll be fine but Romeo will be a great addition tonight." I smiled.
"Well, I'm going to go shower and get some sleep. I'll see you bright and early." He said.
"Sounds good to me Luke. Goodnight and thanks again for letting me keep him." I smiled.
Luke pulled me close and kissed me goodnight before he disappeared out the door.
