They have planned it all along. From the very start.
I kept on asking myself where did I go wrong being a friend, being a family, being a student, being a lover, and being a person. I knew back then, and until now that I am flawed. But people doing that to me just because they hate me secretly is just too much. It doesn't make sense. I couldn't pinpoint her subject. I couldn't understand everything... and why are they saying that I deserve it? I clearly deserve nothing of it.
I wasn't always free, but when they needed me... I was always there. I wasn't bad. I was mean, but I never step on people's moral principle and boundaries. I know where to draw the line. I want to know why she planned that. I was her friend since we were in high school... what forced her to do that? I treated her as my family. How could she betray me?
"This case shouldn't even be addressed by the Supreme Court! This is insane!" The old Ursula Larrañaga shouted.
Atty. de Vega, my attorney, glanced at her with her sharp eyes.
"What?!" Ursula even made a scene. "This is pathetic! That girl is dead-mute! What do we even expect from her? The truth? My son is not a rapist! I did not raise him that way! That Unating lady is clearly lying, and probably she's after money!"
The media flocked on her feet immediately. She acted like she was in a deep dejection. And then the crowd suddenly threw dead stares at us. The old lady wiped her fake tears dramatically as she sobbed loudly.
"Mama... Calm down..." Glenn Larrañaga tried to stop her own mother. "Let's not waste our energy on them."
"This is crazy! You will believe on a dead-mute girl?" She cried. "You know my son! He is an honorable man! Our family would never engaged on such dramatic allegations!"
Olga hugged her mother in law. The media went to her while she was having a breakdown.
"Bakit po ganito ang naging reaksyon ni Misis Larrañaga?" Tanong ng mga taong uhaw sa pangyayari.
"My daughter is traumatized! Binugbog ang asawa ko! Sa harap ng anak ko! And that lady has the audacity to wrongly accused my husband on something he did not commit several years ago! This is insane! They don't even have any evidence to prove their allegations! They are causing traumas to my family..." After saying that, she then cried again on her mother in law's shoulder.
"Look at that! She has caused multiple traumas to our family! That dead-mute girl is incompetent as a witness or more so! This should be declined! It is obvious that we deserved the victory! We will file case against her!" The old Ursula thundered even more. "She's like her mother who killed my husband!"
Their words, their actions, their lies, everything about them enervates my whole existence and energy. This battle is considered as pernicious as it exasperates me, but I know that in the end, loyal hearts and kindness love will reign.
"A deaf-mute individual is not deemed incompetent as a witness or plaintiff. Republic Act No. 7277 Section 4 and Section 40. Read some laws, Larranaga," Atty. de Vega remarked. "H'wag kang mag magaling sa harap ng Korte Suprema ng Pilipinas kung sa pera ka lang bumabase. Mapera ka lang. Wala kang alam sa katotohanan. Wala kang alam sa batas. Hindi ko na babanggitin kung saan mo nakukuha ang pera mo. Hayaan na lang natin na ang Korte Suprema ang humatol."
Their eyes widened.
"How dare you bad-mouth our family?!"
