"You don't know how to play basketball?"

I shoot my shot for the last time. Kanina pa kasi ako naglalaro at hinihingal na. Wala siyang ginagawa kun'di paanoorin lang ako habang nakaupo sa sahig. Tinatawanan niya rin ako kapag natatamaan ako ng bola at super proud niya naman kapag nakaka-shoot ako.

"Hindi ako marunong!"

I got the ball and I dribbled it. He laughed again because I looked like a monkey! I shot the ball and it didn't even meet the ring!

"You don't know how to aim?" He mocked.

"What do you expect? I don't play basketball naman!"

Umupo ako sa tabi niya at inayos niya ang aking palda. Binalik niya ang kan'yang dalawang kamay sa pagkakatukod nito sa sahig at nakahilig siya ngayon.

"And now you are sweaty. We're matchy," he chuckled. "Darrel is a varsity player, right?"

"Yup. I was used watching his game."

He nodded and whispered. "I know."

"Ikaw? Why aren't you playing for school?" I asked back.

He shrugged.

"I used to. When I was in Senior high school. I quit because I wanted to focus on my studies."

"Ah, Junior pa lang ako no'n. Hindi naman kita napapanood?" Nagtataka kong tanong.

Or maybe I was just busy on my sport back then? I didn't notice the basketball team.

"We actually trained Darrel's team before... nakikita kita."

"Hala! Ang pangit ko no'ng Junior pa ako, e!" I laughed hysterically.

"You are a cold-hearted person before."

"I'm not!" I defended myself.

Kasi hindi talaga. Hindi lang talaga ako pumapansin ng mga taong hindi ko naman kilala. I knew him na no'ng Junior pa ako, pero hindi kasi talaga maganda ang record niya sa mga babae. Ang dami niya kayang pinaiyak na mga classmate kong girls before! And they were Junior!

"I know you na kahit no'ng Junior pa ako. Ang dami mo kayang pinaiyak na babae!"

His eyes narrowed and I can sense his defensive stunt.

"I didn't make them cry. Their hopes did."

"Then how did you get involve with those models? Ang dami nila! Confirmed pa!"

He lowered his gaze.

"Ah... that..." He chuckled. "I don't know?"

"Anong I don't know? Nabasa ko 'yon!"

"I don't know nga!" tumatawa na siya ngayon. "We just see each other on a party then they are confirming the next day that we're in a relationship!"

Napakurapkurap ako.

Parang ang hirap naman paniwalaan no'n?

"Are you implying that you are that handsome?" Inis kong tanong.

"What do you think?" He challenged.

"Mas pogi kaya si Alui sa'yo. He has blue eyes."

He glared at me like I betrayed him.

"I'm more handsome than him! He has fish eyes while mine are browns. You have a weird taste for men."

I rolled my eyes because of what he said.
