We sat at the long and fairly wide dinner table in a separate room from the kitchen. From the looks of it, you could tell that this dining room was only used for special occasions. To the far right of the room there was a wooden case with glass shelves full of decorative ceramic plates and cups.

On the opposite side of the room stood a wooden shelf full of family photos, one of which included DeVante and his father's band

"THAT'S you?" I leaned over and whispered to him while pointing. Looking over to where I pointed, he instantly shook his head in disapproval.

"Maaan unfortunately, I look corny huh?" He whispered back with a smirk.

I shook my head.

"You actually look so adorable, so innocent although you probably weren't," I giggled.

Right at that moment, De's mom came out from the kitchen with two full plates in her hands. She sat one in front of his dad and one in front of Dalvin. She came out with two more, one for me and another for DeVante. Lastly she sat plates in front of Derek and then herself. Taking a look at my plate, I noticed that everything looked amazing, perfectly cooked, and assembled.
