I sat in silence while the make up artist and hair stylist worked on my next look for our last performance of the night. (A/n: songs Almost doesnt count and Im ready)To say I am ready for this night to be over is a huge understatement. I just wanna go home and lay in bed. I think I'm gonna take a flight back to NY tonight instead of tomorrow morning with the other girls. As the make up artist continued on my face, I felt myself beginning to fight back tears. Fuck. I can't help but to have these random ass outbursts...
"You okay honey?" the make up artist asked as he stopped and looked at me with concern.
"Oh..uh..yeah sorry just probably something in my eye."
"Hmp..Everything is going to be okay, you're a beautiful woman don't let life get you down like this," the beautiful black gay man bypassed my obvious lie. "Life gets better. Whatever you're going through, just remember that it's just a phase in your life...that will pass."
I nodded while looking forward.
"Iz ya ready? We're up in 5 minutes," Xina poked her head through the door. For this performance we wore something much simpler. Black, long straight dresses, diamond hoop earrings, with our hair straightened and slicked back into side part ponytails. We all wore smokey eyeshadow with deep red/burgundy lips.
"We all finished up here!" The make up artist answered. "You go knock them dead the way you always do girl, you got this!"
"Thank you lovely, I appreciate that," I smiled and gave him a quick hug before heading out with the rest of the girls.
"You sure you want me to sing lead tonight?" Mani asked one last time as we retrieved our mics.
"Yes please, I can't do it. Not infront of him anyways," I admitted and she understood.
We stood in a straight line in the order from left to right. Me, Mani, Xina, and Mina.
"Give it up for the very talented young laaaadiees EXIT 22!"
