"You're not selling the house."
"Roma, I can't afford to keep the house. I can barely afford the rent for the apartment." I tighten her hand before looking back towards the seller, "I'm buying the house."
"You can't buy the house."
"I'll give you two a moment." As soon as the attorney leaves the room Ele lets go of my hand. "Roma you can't buy the house."
"Why can't I?" I look around the kitchen where we're stood, "I'm not letting you spend your money on this house." Ele shakes her head, "baby, I'm buying the house— it means something to you."
"It meant something to my mom. And now she's gone." I reach out for her hands to show some comfort, "I'm buying this for you because I know how much your mom means to you. How much you mean to me." Since her moms' death last week Ele has been trying to keep it together— to appear strong. I've noticed the bags under her eyes, she won't admit it but I know her mom's death has affected her more than she'd like to admit.
"I can't let you spend your money."
"I'm rich, I can buy anything I want— and I'm buying this house for you."
"Roma, I—"
"Have we decided what we're doing yet?" The attorney walks back into the room grabbing both of our attention. "We're buying the house." I smile at Ele who shows a small smile in return.
"You bought a fucking house?" My dad is currently pacing the living room, I turn to look at Hayden whose looking scared, he won't admit it but my father scares him. He scares all of us. "I did." I lean back into the couch, throwing an arm over the back of it, "don't get smart with me!"
"Okay, dad maybe chill out a little bit." Alex holds his breath at the side of me, "you want me to chill out?" He stops to stare at me, "Roma you bought a house! A fucking house!" I look to Kian who just shrugs, he's bought a whole lot more— so he doesn't understand the problem here. "Why on gods green earth did you buy a house? You're twenty!"
"Good time to invest right." Kian smirks, "boys can you please leave I need to talk to my son alone." All three of them quickly stand up heading out the front door. Once the door finally shuts my dad loses it, "this is a fucking joke! You bought a house!"
