"Okay, what about this outfit?"
Two days. Today's Friday and Liv is standing in my mirror trying on outfits for the game. "Ele," she snaps her fingers grabbing my attention, "it's too much isn't it?" I let my eyes roam over her body, she stands with her hands on her hips, "opinions please." Liv asks as she claps her hands, "it's..." I trail off getting distracted by the outfit.
Liv is standing in a mini dress both in the colors of the cougars, red and white. "For game day?" She huffs before unzipping her dress and pulling it off. "Now this is my fantasy."
Me and Liv snap our heads towards the doorway to see Hayden leaning against the frame. "Get out you perv!" Liv shouts before pulling on a pair of my sweatpants.
"I've just got here."
"What do you want, Jones?" Liv asks and I watch in silence as both of them stare at each other, never looking away. It's clear to me, that there are some unspoken feelings between the two. Hayden tuts while shaking his head slowly, "surprisingly, I'm not here to see you." Hayden says to Liv as she smiles before walking past him, purposely knocking into his shoulder on the way out.
"What's up?"
Hayden shuts the door behind him, leaning against it.
"Two days." I roll my eyes knowing he's talking about, the game and Roma. "I've missed you." A smile appears on my face, "you've missed me?" I ask Hayden rolls his eyes in response to my question, "yes, I have, and you know who else has missed you?"
"Alex?" I taunt, "Roma." My smile fades slightly, "I've missed him." I finally admit to someone who isn't the girls. "Why did you break it off with him?" He presses taking a step closer to the bottom of my bed, "it's a long story."
He pulls out his phone checking the time, "I have an hour." He takes a sit on the edge of my bed staring at me intensely. "I didn't want to break up— I didn't even want space." I lean back into my cushions, "what happened Gomez?"
"You know when I surprised Roma by picking him up after practice?" His eyebrows furrow trying to remember, "your Coach saw me waiting, he asked to talk." Hayden stays silent, "long story short he told me how important this game is for Roma's future and asked me to break it off with him." His leg starts shaking slowly, "I asked for space thinking that's enough and Roma got angry and said if I let him walk away we'd be broken up."
He stands up abruptly, "he did what?" His voice getting louder, "it's my fault— I knew football is his life I should have never taken up so much of his time."
"Do you love him?" His facial expression softened, "I do." A smile appears on his face, "does Carter know about what Coach did?"
"No." I take a breath, "shit." He curses running a hand through his ruffled hair, "you should tell him."
"No, I can't do that— he admires Coach I can't ruin that." He sits back on the end of my bed reaching out to grab my hand, "two days."
"You're a really great friend."
