Last night

"What do I say?" Liv asks while dragging her bags of clothes up the stairs, "just be honest." I've finally convinced Liv to tell Hayden how she feels. She's stressing out, we sat in her car for ten minutes while she tied up her hair, let it fall, braided it, and unbraided it. Livs now opted for her hair down. She looks great no matter what and I know Hayden will say the same.

"Do you have the keys?" I root around my bag to find them, unlocking the door we walk into our apartment to be greeted by Alex and Lizzie. Alex stood just slightly in front of the door whereas Lizzies in the kitchen. "Hey, guys..." Me and Liv stop dead in our tracks not knowing what's going on. "Liv, can I talk to you?" I exchange a glance with Lizzie before Liv replies, "sure."

I don't know why Liv is awkward here— I mean she is friends with him. Alex offers to help Liv with her shopping bags before going to her room leaving me and Lizzie in confusion. "What was that?" I whisper across the room loud enough for only Lizzie to hear, "he showed up like ten minutes ago asking for Liv— I told him you would be back any minute." She explains while stirring her drink.

On cue, their voices get louder, not enough to hear through the walls but enough for anyone to guess they're annoyed at each other. "Are they shouting?" Lizzie looks back to Liv's door, "I've never heard Alex shout before." I shouldn't eardrops, I know that but when they're talking loud enough you can hear through walls then they're asking for it. I head over into the kitchen to get closer to Liv's room but enough for it to look normal.

"Why do you think Alex came?" Lizzie nudges my stomach to grab my attention, "I don't know..." We hear a door open and then slam as Alex walks straight past us through the front door slamming that one too. "Fuck." We both turn to see Liv standing outside of her room with her hands on her hips, "Liv..." I walk towards her slowly, "what happened?" She runs a hand through her hair, no longer straight but rather mane like now. "Something happened between me and Alex." I always knew they were close, I just assumed their relationship was similar to mine and Hayden's- maybe it still is. "What happened?" Lizzie repeats my question from behind me.

"I just told him how I feel about Hayden— thinking he'd be happy for me." I notice that Liv's hands have started shaking, "he's upset with me." She rubs her nose, "I'm going to bed." She attempts a smile before closing her bedroom door leaving me and Lizzie standing in the hallway, "shit." I turn to see Lizzie sipping on her straw, "this is why you don't fall for someone."

"So what you'll never fall for anyone?" She laughs at my question, "I'm planning on a star-crossed lovers type of relationship for me." Lovers whose relationship is doomed to fail from the start are said to be "star-crossed." A great example of this: Romeo and Juliet. "So you don't want love at first sight?" I tease, "love is a myth— doesn't exist and you can't convince me otherwise." Her tone was more serious than before. "who hurt you, to make you believe that love is a myth?" My question is rhetorical.

"Weakness." She mutters, "what is?"

"Love is a weakness. I can't afford that." I pray to God that isn't true. "You can't keep those walls up forever, eventually someone will come along and knock those down." She laughs again, "others have tried— they've failed."

"So, what you just won't feel anything for anyone?" I shouldn't push it, this is the first time Lizzies ever opened up— especially about love but I want to know, she's my friend I want to watch her fall in love at least once. "I've gone eighteen years without feeling love for anyone, I'm not going to start now."

"Well, that's a damn shame." Love is an intense, deep affection for another person. Love also means to feel this intense affection for someone. It's putting your trust in someone else's hands. "At least I've never gotten my heartbroken." I cut, "you've never given anyone a chance, that's what love is— playing the risk."

"Love is a game. Only one person wins, the other ends up with a broken heart." Isn't that the fun of it though? Eventually, you will find someone when you least expect it and they will come along and change everything.

"So, will you play the game? Break someone's heart?"

"Well, they sure as hell won't break mine."

Sofia Wylie and Asher Angel have more chemistry than P*rtwell had all season. You can't argue otherwise.

"You're the reason I stayed with the show."

"I wouldn't quit on us if I wasn't moving away."

"Yeah, the plane was going down."
