10 days.

That was all, 10 painfully long days.

10 days until the State Championship.

10 days until I tell Roma how I feel.

I've tried to avoid him all week, Monday and Friday we had history lectures— I didn't leave Liv's side. I asked Hayden if he could tell Roma I did the work I needed to do.

I can't talk to Roma just yet, I just need a little bit more time.

"So what's everyone doing for the summer?" Liv has been trying to get our plans sorted because she wants to take us away. Knowing Liv she probably hasn't decided the destination yet. "I have to go home. My fathers required my presence." Lizzie's tone is full of sarcasm. I haven't met her parents but her father is all over the news recently. The election for New York governor is a year away despite that he is everywhere.

"Well, I'm going back home to see the family." Unlike the rest of us, Ems family lives on the west coast. Her parents moved to Pullman when Em started high school here but once she started college they moved back to the west coast. "What about you?" I zone back into the conversation to see Liv waiting for my response, "normally I work in the bakery with my mom." I pause releasing for the first time in eight years that won't happen. "So, I'll probably just hang around."

Maybe moving back into my childhood home for the summer would be a good way to heal. "Without the guys here— realistically do we see them winning?" Em leans across the table lowering her voice to make sure people around us don't hear.

"They're playing ISU. They are good." There's doubt in Liv's voice, "have you spoken to Hayden?" I had to ask— she shakes her heading leaning back into the booth. "I don't wanna talk about Hayden." Lizzie rubs my arm, "have you spoken to Roma?" I can't be sad forever— life moves on. "Ten days." I smile, that was all. Ten long fucking days.

"He'll understand." Em reassures me, I hope. "So, what are we thinking about Europe?" Livs smile widens, "Europe?" I've only ever been to California and obviously New York— never mind Europe.

Paris.

I always wanted to go to Paris.

The city of love.

Maybe me and Roma could go to France one day.

Maybe?

Well, that's just me being naive— wishing that everything is fine and will go back to normal. "Somewhere in the Spanish islands." Olivia lives for the heat. I do know from being her friend for around ten years now she always goes away somewhere hotter for summer. This year isn't any different. "I have to spend the summer back home." Lizzie hates New York. She's never really explained why but every time she has to go she can't come home quick enough.
