"Are they coming?"

I peer over Alex's shoulder, "personal space bro." He nudges me with his shoulder, "Livs typing." Me and Alex are standing in our kitchen while the music is blasting, there are drunk girls everywhere. "No." I snap my head back towards Alex, "no?" He shows me the message, "they aren't coming." I know Ele asked for space and I'm going to give it to her but if she came to the party then maybe I could have kept an eye on her. Not in a creepy or lurking way but I can't help it.

I fucking miss her.

"Hayden!" I shout towards the beer pong that was happening outside, when he doesn't respond I head outside through the sliding doors, "Hayden!"

"Fucking hell you're loud." I jump slightly to see Kian standing out on the porch smoking. "Jesus Christ." I hold my fist out for defence. "Why do you need Hayden?" He asks while exhaling the smoke, "I need a favour," I rub the back of my neck. "A favour?" Kian stands straight, "don't worry about it." I was going to ask Hayden to go convince the girls to come because I know how close him and Ele are. "Nah," he takes a final drag, "I'm interested now." He smirks at how off-put I am, "you won't take the piss?" Kian shakes his head slowly, "I need you to head over to the girl's house and try to convince them to come."

He bites his bottom lip trying to stop a laugh from coming out, "you haven't seen her for what? Five days?" Kian questions and it's clear to me that he's enjoying this. "Are you going to help me out or not?" I snap, he looks over towards the beer pong to see Hayden downing a drink, "you owe me."

Everyone in New York owes something to The Bliss Family.

"Fuck off," I hear him laugh before heading back inside.

Maybe I reacted too drastically.

I miss Ele.

I've tried to give her distance but the truth is I can't. At practice I'm taking out all my anger on football, I'm doing great but I can't help my mind from wandering back to Ele. To our conversation that night. It came out of nowhere— that's what confuses me the most. Before it she mentioned she spoke to Coach, me being somewhat paranoid I asked him about it, he just said they spoke about me while she waited. And Ele never told me what they spoke about so could I really try to pin it on that conversation?

The game was in two and a half weeks, I can't afford to have my head fucked up because I'm trying to figure out some girl who didn't even fight for me. Maybe it's because I'm too selfish but I was never going to let Ele go, yet she let me go. She didn't even try to argue, she just told me to go.
