It has been days already and they're still being held captive by the demons. Nothing they could do but complain to themselves, especially Yena, but eventually got tired and silenced up.
It was the third night now and they're sleeping as they shivered on the cold ground. They were given no blanket nor anything warm to protect themselves from the temperature, so they endured all this time. But despite the chill, they're still deep in their slumber.
But not one person.
Minju is still wide awake. Thoughts have clouded her that she didn't even notice the temperature, only staring at the sky full of dazzling stars shining together with the aurora that gives dreamy colors to the clouds. It was a wonderful sight that caught her fully fazed, distracting her from her messy mind.
Not until a voice spoke from behind, "May I know your answer now?" Minju recognized it was Sakura.
The demon slowly paced closer and buried the flaming torch standing on the ground that gives them enough light to see the dim surrounding.
Minju slowly raised herself to sat up, head bowing low with her lips pressed together, "Can... you still give me more time?"
"How much more? When your country falls into deeper poverty? When your empire starts to shake into ruins? Will you give your answer only after your friends die one by one?"
"Please don't bring my friends into this matter."
"I see you care about them," Sakura walks near her to sit as well just beside Minju with the cage cell separating them. "Isn't it just right to protect your friends?"
"By what then?? Sitting on the throne??—"
"Exactly."
Minju fell speechless. She looks away from Sakura with tears she suppressed. "I don't know."
Her mind then took her back from three days ago when they first encountered. When Sakura took her away from her friends just to have a private talk.
It was a gulp-worthy situation that Minju have gotten herself into. As she follows the demon's track, she can't help but sweat drastically despite the chilling atmosphere. Her hands were uncontrollably trembling as well as her knees that they almost gave up. Fear enveloped her whole just by the fact that this is a top-tier demon she's with.
Then the woman in front stopped causing for the human to flinch. She then turned around and gave Minju an expressionless glare, "Nice to meet you, Central's princess."
But that word... that one word was enough to sweep away the fear she felt replaced by emptiness. "P-please stop calling me that."
"You introduced yourself as that, why wouldn't I?"
"It was a mistake I shouldn't have done."
The demon stepped close to her that brought all her fright back in a second. Minju steps away every time the demon steps forward. Only to tremble more when her tail wrapped around Minju's wrist that made her stop.
"My name is Sakura."
"I'm M-Minju..?" She herself wasn't sure whether did she do right or not.
