"Jules!" The terrified teenager sat up, startled and sweating. She grabbed onto the nearest person to her with fear, "it was a nightmare, none of that was real Jules. You are safe. You are okay." The person cooed at her. Jules's vision was blurry, and she was in a dazed state, "hey Jules, can you look at me?" The person in front of Jules, was not one that she was used to. Tom and Doctor Carson both worked in the day mostly, therefore she knew it couldn't have been one of them. "It's Doctor Rennie. Do you remember me?" Jules couldn't make a sound, she just sat, staring at the empty doorway in front of her, "and next to you, on the other side is Nate. You know Nate don't you?"
What Jules didn't realise, was that she was still tightly grabbing onto Doctor Rennie in fear, "make it all stop!"
"Jules, it's okay, you are safe, I promise." She unleashed her tight grip from Doctor Rennie, who was the night psychiatrist for this evening, "where are you going Jules?" She had gotten up from her bed, you could see the sweat marks on her, you could still hear the sniff of her crying. You could see the weight of the world on this poor girls back, as she stumbled out into the hallway, it was lightly lit, however there were nurses now situated in the hallway. They all gave her a concerned look, "hey Jules, why don't you come back into the room, and talk to me?"
"No." She shook her head, "I want Tom." She tried to make her way down the hall, inspecting how it was all inhabited by sleeping patients. No alarms. No flashing. Safety at last.
"Tom's not here sweetheart, because it's nighttime."
"Please. I want to see Tom. I want to talk to him."
"Jules, Tom's gone home for now, he will be back in the morning; so you can talk to him then. Why don't you talk to me in the meantime?" The young girl was still sobbing, as she reach the end of the hallway, looking out of the window, in hopes Tom would miraculously turn up. She hit the door aggressively, "no thank you, Jules."
She slid down the door, just like in her nightmare, crying into her hands, Nate came up next to her, along with Doctor Rennie. "Jules I promise you, as soon as Tom gets in tomorrow, i'll send him to come see you. But Tom would want you to talk to Doctor Rennie, and not suffer any longer. Let's go into your room, and you can talk through what's happened with the therapist." Nate tried to convince her, however she continued to cry, and they were not making any progress.
Nate pulled her up delicately, she cried into him as she was pulled closer. He held her tightly, unsure of what to fully do, "I want to be alone," she mumbled, slightly nudging him off her, as she gripped onto the walls for stability. While making her way back to her depressing pit. Jules got back into bed and covered every inch of herself under it.
Doctor Rennie stood at the opening of the door, leant to the side, his arms crossed, "so no talking about your feelings to me?"
"Go away."
"True teenager style."
"I don't want to talk to you."
"I understand that, but you seemed pretty scared Jules, you still seem quite traumatised over it."
"I'm fine."
"Well I know that's not true."
"Can you just tell me what it was about?"
"Here."
"The psychiatric ward?"
"Yep."
"Was it something that has happened to you previously here? That has traumatised you?"
"No."
"Oh. Can you elaborate on what it was then?"
"No."
