Tom
"Hart! Get back here!" I shouted at the anorexic girl, who was surprisingly, not, running away from the group session. "You have no choice Julianna, you have to go into the group session!" I yelled as I ran down the corridor after her.
"Not with that bitch I won't!" She replied, rather out of breath, and honestly I couldn't tell if she was laughing or crying at this point.
"Hart! Enough, i'm done chasing you," just as we reached the end of the corridor, there were more nurses now, and I could see the panic grow on her face. I honestly took this as one of Jules's 'fun' excursions, and I think it was, until it got to the point that multiple people were surrounding her once again. And the memories of last time began to torment her, while she backed herself into the corner, panicked. "Hey, I thought this was just one of your funny moments, what's happening?"
"There's too many people."
"Okay, come on then let's go to the quite room and calm down, and then we can join the group. How does that sound?"
"There's too many people," she began to panic even more.
"I hear you Jules, but they can't leave until they know that you are safe and acting accordingly."
"Tom."
"I see that you are anxious, why don't you tell me why that is. I understand that it's because there are too many people, why do you feel that way?"
"It's like last time."
"Alright, let's defuse the situation, we can go to a room so that you can be alone. Yeah?" She played with the white bandages on her arms, that were becoming slightly off coloured, "you should be getting the results of the x-ray today, right? That will be cool to see the x-ray won't it?" I tried to make conversation to distract her.
She replied frazzled, "I don't know."
"That's okay. Let's go for a walk, find a quiet room for you to calm down." I said this, just as Doctor Carson and Doctor Rennie were walking down the corridor. Doctor Carson clocked onto the situation quickly, and began to walk faster towards us.
He asked concerned, "everything okay Tom?"
"Yeah, we are okay aren't we Jules?" But all she was doing was staring at Doctor Rennie, I had my hands in my pockets, relaxed as I turned towards the Doctor.
Carson spoke out, "do you remember Doctor Rennie, Jules?"
"Yeah. He looked after Theo."
"Yes he did Jules. But let's focus on you right now."
"When is Theo coming back?" I don't know who she was implying that question at, but we all looked very confused back at her.
I started to speak first, "we have talked about this Jules, do you remember the conversations we have had?"
"When is he coming back?"
"Jules my dear, Theo isn't coming back. You know that," I said to her softly.
She shook her head, still looking at Doctor Rennie, "no, no you aren't telling me the truth, I can see it in Doctor Rennie's face."
Doctor Rennie slowly walked to stand next to me, while he whispered, "you did tell her right?"
Doctor Carson was talking to Jules, while we whispered to the side, "yes, she seems convinced that he is actually alive."
"Hmm, so does Joey. That's strange don't you think? The two people closest to Theo, are convinced that he is still alive."
