It was a normal day in the Avengers' Tower. I was up in my lab, working on making ice blasters for Nat. I just had to figure out how to contain my power in a gun, which was proving more difficult that I thought.
The door to my lab opened and my dad walked in.
"Hey, kiddo," he said, giving me a one armed hug. "Pete's gonna be over in a few minutes for the suit. Can you give it to him, and show him the new additions?"
"Sure thing," I said.
Peter Parker was basically my younger brother. My dad acted like he wasn't, but my dad definitely saw him as a son. And I saw him as a brother, so that worked out well.
Peter didn't know that I was Tony's daughter, but he assumed that I had been 'adopted' like he had been.
My dad kissed my head and left, probably off to his lab.
A few minutes later, Peter did arrive.
"Hey, Pete," I said, ruffling his hair. "How was school?"
"Good," he said. "How's inventing going?"
"Difficult," I said, "but nothing I can't handle. Right, so Tony wanted me to talk to you about the suit."
I went through everything and showed Peter the different settings.
"Alright, you're set to go," I said. "Stay safe, please."
"I always do," Peter said, shoving the suit in his backpack.
"Bullshit," I said. "Who was it who came in with a stab wound last month?"
"That was an accident," he muttered. "Anyways, I gotta go, I promised I'd meet with MJ. Bye, N/n!"
"Bye, Pete!" I called as he left.
I was about to get back to work when there was a knock on my door. I turned around to see Bucky leaning against the door frame.
"Hey, favourite Stark," he said. "Wanna spar?"
I looked longingly at my invention.
"I don't know..." I said.
"You've been working on that for three hours straight," Bucky said. "Getting out of the lab will probably help you."
He wasn't wrong. I had been working on this since lunch time, so maybe getting active would be a good idea.
"Alright," I said. "Give me ten to change, and I'll meet you in the training rooms."
Bucky saluted me and left. I packed everything away before getting into the elevator and heading up to my room.
My room was on one of the top floors, one below my dad's. I had the entire floor to myself, and it consisted of a bedroom, a ridiculously large bathroom and closet, an office, and a little kitchen space and lounge room.
I quickly got changed into my active gear and headed back down to the training rooms.
"That was fifteen minutes, Stark," Bucky said, his arms crossed. "You know, I'm not getting any younger over here."
"Well, for a one hundred year old man, you're looking pretty good," I quipped.
Bucky chuckled and got into position on one of the mats. I got in position opposite from him, and we began. Bucky struck at my stomach, and I twisted out of the way, grabbing his arm, and twisting it in the process. Bucky was able to get free (after he kicked me) and we traded punches and kicks. Eventually he had me pinned down.
"You only won because you're super strong," I muttered, getting up.
Bucky chuckled.
"If you say so, princess."
