We paraded through the streets of Asgard. It took the better part of the hour to get to the palace, because the Asgardians wanted to see their princes. I quickly became the main source of interest. People whispered and pointed at me. I felt a bit uncomfortable with all of the attention.
Soon enough we were in the castle's courtyard and away from the stares and whispers of the Asgardian citizens. Loki dismounted the horse and grabbed my waist to help me down. My butt really hurt because of the ride.
Thor dismounted his horse and was about to say something when someone else called his name.
"Thor! You are back!"
I turned to the source of the voice and found a very beautiful female warrior striding towards us, followed closely by three other male warriors.
"Sif!" Thor boomed, walking over to the woman.
He picked her up in a bone-crushing hug. She smacked him on the back so that he would let her down. Thor hugged the other three warriors and gestured for the warriors to follow him. He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to them to introduce us.
"Lady Y/n meet my friends Lady Sif and the warriors three, Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral!" Thor said happily.
I gave them all a wave.
"Hi," I said.
Sif inclined her head once, eyeing me suspiciously. Volstagg waved back at me, and Hogun smiled. Fandral smirked at my and kissed my hand in greeting.
"Now, Fandral," Thor chuckled. "Y/n is being courted."
Fandral pouted.
"By you?" he asked.
Sif's lips thinned. I shook my head, and Sif's demeanour immediately changed. She seemed to relax, and I caught her stealing a glance at Thor.
"Then who?' Fandral asked.
"Me."
I turned around and smiled at Loki and intertwined our fingers. I looked back to the warriors three. Volstagg's eyebrows furrowed, Hogun's eyes widened, and Fandral's eyebrows rose.
"You are courting a Midgardian?" Sif asked Loki.
Loki nodded and his fingers tightened on mine. Sif regarded me curiously, and the other men did as well. Thor cleared his throat and clapped Loki on the back.
"Well, we had best be meeting Mother and Father," Thor said. "We shall see you soon, friends."
Sif and the warriors three bid their goodbyes, and then Loki, Thor and I were walking down the halls of the palace.
Even though I hated Odin, I had to admit that his style was amazing. There were floor to ceiling windows almost everywhere, showing the beautiful views of Asgard. Flowers bloomed in multiple vases near the windows, and rich rugs lined the centre of the hallway.
We reached a big set of double doors with four guards standing in front of it. They nodded at Thor when they saw him and moved back to open the doors.
The throne room was massive. It was everything I'd been expecting, and yet more. Frigga and Odin sat upon thrones at the other end of the room. Thor, Loki, and I continued walking until we were at the foot of the dais. Thor and Loki dropped to a knee and I followed suit.
"Rise," Odin boomed.
We all stood up.
"Thor, how has Loki been behaving?" he asked.
"Very well, Father," Thor said. "Loki has helped out on multiple missions, and the Avengers trust him."
Odin glanced to me.
"And who are you?" he asked.
"Y/n Stark, Your Majesty," I said politely. "I'm an Avenger."
I supposed that it didn't matter if an Asgardian knew who I was. Besides, if I lied to Odin, he'd probably throw a tantrum and have me beheaded or something.
Odin smiled at me. I wanted to hit him with Mjolnir.
"Daughter of the Iron Man, yes?"
"Yes, Your Majesty," I said.
Odin nodded once at me and turned his attention to Loki.
"Have you learnt your lesson yet?" Odin asked.
Learnt his lesson? In what? Being mind controlled?
"Yes, Father," Loki bit out.
Odin narrowed his eyes at Loki. I turned my attention to Frigga since I knew that I would most likely murder Odin if I had to look at him for another second. Frigga was already looking at me, so I inclined my head to her politely. She smiled brightly at me, and I smiled back.
"So, Thor, why did you bring a Midgardian with you?" Odin asked.
Thor smiled brightly and nodded at Loki. Loki closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath.
"I am courting her," Loki said.
Odin barked out a laugh. Frigga glanced at him, and Loki narrowed his eyes.
"You, courting a Midgardian?" Odin wheezed. "Hilarious. Now, really, what are you doing here, Tonydottir?"
I cocked my head.
"Loki didn't lie," I said. "We are dating. Courting. Whatever you want to call it."
Odin looked like he was going to say something negative, but Frigga clapped her hands happily.
"Oh, how wonderful!" Frigga exclaimed. She walked down the dais to place her hands on my shoulders in a comforting gesture. "I can already see that you will make my son very happy!"
She pulled me into a hug, and I returned it. Frigga radiated warmth, and if I had to describe her in a word, I would describe her as home. It seemed strange, but she gave off the same comfort as a home.
A few more words were exchanged. We were dismissed, and Loki took my hand as soon as we left the throne room.
"That went better than expected," Thor said.
I laughed and shook my head.
"Mother seems to already like you," Loki said proudly.
I smiled at him and squeezed his hand.
