I awoke to Loki pressing a kiss to my neck.

"Good morning, Darling," he murmured. "Happy anniversary."

I grumbled and rolled over, cuddling up to him.

"Good morning," I mumbled, kissing his collarbone. "Happy one year."

Loki hummed into my hair and held me close. We stayed entwined for a few more minutes before Loki made me get up.

"I'm assuming you have a wonderful and extraordinary day planned for us," I yawned, stretching.

Loki chuckled and kissed the top of my head.

"Of course, my love," he said. "Now, get dressed. I left your outfit on the chair in your closet.

Loki kissed me on the nose before leaving the room. I huffed and walked into the closet. On the chair, as promised, was my outfit. It was a nice (f/c) sundress with a big floppy hat and sandals. I put it on and walked back out to see Loki standing with a tray in his hands. I smiled at him.

"Spoiling me, are we?" I asked.

Loki chuckled and placed the tray on my table before pulling me to his side.

"Of course," he said. "Only the best for you, my dear."

I smiled at him and sat down at the table. We ate breakfast together, talking happily about everything and anything. Once we were finished, Loki magicked the dishes away and we brushed our teeth.

Once we were ready to leave, Loki grabbed my hand, and I experienced the familiar feeling of teleportation.

We appeared in a beautiful grove with wildflowers. A river flowed peacefully close by, and birdsong flittered through the leaves of the trees. The bright blue sky was visible in the clearing we'd appeared in. Loki waved his hand and a picnic blanket appeared on the ground.

I turned to Loki and threw my arms around his neck and kissed him. He kissed me back and I smiled into the kiss.

Soon enough we were sitting on the picnic blanket making flower crowns. Loki's deft fingers made the crowns quickly, while I went at a slightly slower pace. Once Loki finished his, he placed it on my head and smiled at me before pressing his lips against mine softly.

"Your Majesty," he said, a grin on his face as he pulled away.

I smiled back at him.

"My first order as Queen is that you have to kiss me again," I said.

Loki chuckled.

"As you wish," he said, leaning in again.

He kissed me softly and I kissed him back. He pulled me into his lap, and I threaded my fingers through his hair, feeling the silken locks slide through my fingers.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, pulling back. "I have a gift for you!"

I concentrated hard and the neatly wrapped gift appeared beside us. It was only neat because Steve had wrapped it for me.

Loki smiled at me as I handed it to him. He opened the paper carefully and took of the lid of the box. His smile of absolute delight as he beheld the emerald studded dagger made me grin. He took the knife out of the box and twirled it around, testing its balance.

"This... this is beautiful, Y/n," Loki said. "I will cherish it forever."

I smiled at him, and he kissed me again.

"And now for your gift," he said.

He pulled back and a small box appeared in his hand. He opened it to reveal a beautiful ring. It had an emerald in the centre and a golden band.

"I – are you proposing to me?" I asked uncertainly.

Loki chuckled.

"Although I do wish to marry you one day, no, Love, I am not," Loki said. "This is a promise ring. I believe you have them on Midgard?"

"Oh," I said in relief. "Yes."

It wasn't that I didn't want to marry Loki. I definitely did want to in the future, but not right now. I wanted to take my time with him. I didn't want to rush into anything.

Loki slipped the ring onto my finger, and I watched it sparkle in the sun. Loki kissed my cheek and I smiled again.

"I love you," I said.

"And I love you," Loki said, kissing me again.

Many hours later, Loki stood up and helped me up too. We'd had lunch and spoke and basked in each other's company. Loki waved his hand and my outfit changed into an emerald-green dress. It flared out at my waist and stopped just below my knees. It was very elegant, and I smiled at the colour.

"Green," I murmured, running my hand over the fabric.

"Do you have something against the colour?" Loki asked.

I shook my head and smiled.

"No," I said. "It reminds me of you."

Loki smiled at me fondly and stroked a piece of hair out of my face. I smiled back at him and kissed his palm.

The familiar feeling of teleportation filled my senses once again, and we were standing in front of a fancy restaurant. I smiled warmly at Loki as he offered me his arm. He led me into the restaurant.

We had a wonderful time talking about everything. My new promise ring sparkled under the chandeliers, and I smiled every time it caught my eye. It was very beautiful.

After our dessert, Loki took us back to the tower. We appeared in the living room, causing a slight panic. Clint fell off of his perch on the couch and Bucky threw the tv remote at us. Loki caught it in his hand and placed it on the coffee table.

"We are back," Loki said.

"We can see that," Clint grumbled, brushing himself off.

"My daughter! She's back!" my dad called, pushing Steve out of the way.

He hugged me tightly and I laughed at him.

"Miss me, Dad?" I asked.

My dad glared at Loki playfully.

"No more kidnapping my daughter," he warned.

Loki just shrugged.

"I cannot promise anything," he said.

My dad narrowed his eyes at my boyfriend. It was a funny sight, seeing as Loki was quite a bit taller than my dad.

"Is that an engagement ring?" Wanda shrieked, pointing at my hand.

I looked down at my hand and everyone else did too.

"No," I replied. "Just a promise ring."

My dad placed a hand on his heart – I mean arc reactor – and sat down on the couch.

"You are too young to get married, Missy Moo," my dad said.

I laughed and intertwined my fingers with Loki's.

This was the best anniversary ever.
