I didn't sleep during the ten minutes it took for Thor to convince his wizard friend to help us. I quickly changed into my suit and met Doctor Strange in the meeting room. Everyone was suited up, and we were ready to go.

"Loki," Doctor Strange greeted.

Loki just narrowed his eyes at the new superhero and summoned a dagger.

"Please just take us there," I said.

Doctor Strange sighed and began moving his hands. An orange circle appeared, and I saw what looked to be a Hydra base on the other side.

"I couldn't locate him further than this," Strange said. "You'll have to get in yourselves."

"That more than enough, thank you," I said, triple checking all my guns. "Team, let's go."

Everyone stepped through the circle, including Bruce and Strange. This was a code green. Hydra had one of our own, and we weren't going to stop until we had him back.

I immediately jumped into action, using my ice and magic against the Hydra agents. I'd been working on my magic for months now, so I was pretty good at using it for shielding and attacking.

Once again, our team moved in sync.

Steve boosted Natasha onto a jet-packer with his shield; Bucky threw an agent into Hulk's fist; Stephen opened a portal for Clint to drop onto an agent's shoulders.

I was the first to enter the building. Bullets chased me through the halls, but I deflected them with ice and magic. Loki and Stephen followed close on my heels.

"Y/n, do you have eyes on Tony yet?" Steve asked.

"No," I replied. "Searching the base now."

"Clint, Bucky and I are going in, too," Nat said through the comms. "Y/n, did you guys go left or right at the first intersection?"

"Right," I said. "You guys go left."

I continued running through the base, blasting at Hydra agents. After a while, I started using guns and ice blasters so that I could reserve my energy. I checked each and every door that I passed to no avail.

Eventually, I reached a door that five agents were guarding. I killed them all with ice to the heart and blasted the door open.

Inside the room was my dad, tied to a chair, bloody and unconscious.

"Dad?" I asked frantically.

I rushed over and knelt down next the chair, checking for his pulse. I almost cried when I felt it beating. I checked the arc reactor to make sure it was still intact before I started cutting the ropes binding his arms and legs. Loki walked over and tapped my dad's temple, and he jerked awake.

I surged forwards and hugged him tightly.

"Woah. Hey there, kiddo," my dad said.

"You're okay," I cried, not wanting to let go.

My dad hugged me tightly. I distantly heard Loki tell the team that we'd found my dad.

"Hate to break up this reunion, but we should probably get going if we want to get out alive."

I looked up and glared at Stephen before helping my dad stand up.

"Can you walk?" I asked.

My dad nodded and I slung his arm over my shoulder to help him.

"Where is your suit?" Loki asked.

My dad tapped the storage unit on his chest. We made our way through the base, occasionally shooting at enemies.

"Shield back up is here," Natasha said. "We can get out of here. They can take the base by themselves."

"Roger that," I said into the comms.

"Y/n," Steve warned.

I chuckled and Doctor Strange created a portal for us to step through. We ended up in the med bay of the tower and a few other portals appeared as the rest of the team arrived home.

"Wow, guys," my dad said. "A big rescue mission for me? I'm shook."

My dad glanced at Peter who gave him a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes at the pair. Peter trying to teach my dad gen z slang was normally hilarious.

After Bruce got my dad to sit down, he started to work on patching my dad up. Stephen bid us all goodbye and left through one of his orange portals, telling us to call if we needed him again. I bit my lip and twisted my hands.

"Uh oh," my dad said, looking at me. "What happened when I was gone?"

"What – what do you mean?" I asked, my voice a few pitches higher than it normally was.

My dad raised an eyebrow at me, and I sighed.

"Okay, so... the entire team now knows that I'm your daughter," I said.

My dad chuckled and shook his head.

"I was gone for what – an hour? Less? And you let the cat out of the bag," my dad said. He then turned his attention to the others who didn't know. "You know, I don't have anything against you guys. I just – I thought the less people knew, the better, you know? I do trust you guys. All of you. Even you over there, Reindeer Games."

Loki looked pleasantly surprised, and I smiled at my dad. I glanced to Loki again and he gave me a nod. I took a deep breath and looked to my dad.

"So... um... there's something else," I said.

My dad cocked his head at me. I was really going to say this in front of everyone, wasn't I?

"So, um... Loki and I are dating-"

There was a flurry of motion as my dad stood up, glaring at Loki. Bruce placed a hand against his chest and pushed him back down onto the stool.

"Dad, come on," I whined. "He's a great guy. What were you just saying about trusting him?"

"He's – I... It's..." my dad spluttered, and I watched on.

He exhaled sharply before narrowing his eyes at Loki.

"Hurt my daughter, and I'll make you wish you were never born," my dad growled.

"So will the rest of us," Steve said, crossing his arms.

"Leave him alone," I sighed.

"Lady Y/n," Thor said.

I turned to him, and he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"You are a great friend," he said. "But should you intentionally hurt my brother, I will crush your skull."

"WOAH!" several people exclaimed.

My dad jumped up from his seat again and Bruce had to forcibly restrain him.

Thor just smiled at me and pat my shoulder. I wouldn't intentionally hurt Loki, but Thor's words sent a shiver of fear down my spine. Thor was a warrior who had lived for centuries, and I most likely wouldn't win against him, ice or no.

"The same goes for you, brother," Thor said, clapping Loki on the shoulder.

Loki rolled his eyes at him. I smiled at the two of them.

I was glad. I didn't have to hide anything from my family anymore.
