"Y/n, how are you doing in there?"

I shot icicles at the Hydra agents running towards me.

"I'm doing great," I said. "Just gotta get through this big ass door with a big ass lock."

I began picking the lock with one of my inventions and the door opened within moments. A wall of Hydra agents were on the other side of the door, and I raised a massive ice wall to block the bullets. I moved out of the doorway and spoke into the comms.

"Yeah, I might need back up," I said.

"Roger that," Natasha said. "Bucky and I'll be there in a minute."

I snorted and shot at the approaching Hydra agents. My ice wall shattered, and I raised another one to keep the agents at bay while I waited for back up.

Natasha and Bucky arrived, the latter carrying Steve's shield, and I took away my ice wall. The sound of bullets on metal filled my ears, and I followed Bucky into the fray. I shot icicles at the soldiers and froze their bodies. I froze the floor underneath them and they all began slipping and sliding.

"Everything's clear out here," my dad said through the comms.

"Let's grab the intel and clear out," Nat said. "Cover me. Make sure no one shoots me."

"Nat, it was one time!" I exclaimed. "And it was barely even a graze!"

Natasha smirked at me before typing away on one of the computers. I kicked a body and it jerked to life.

"Hey, man," I said. "What's up?"

"Y/n, stop making friends with the enemy," Natasha said.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. The agent jumped up and swung his fist at my face. I kicked him in the side and then punched him square in the nose. He fell over backwards and hit the floor hard enough that the ice cracked. I winced.

"Oops," I said.

"Don't worry about it," Nat said, typing away furiously. "He was trying to kill you a moment ago."

I sighed and began playing with my ice. I let it swirl in the air, before deciding to make a snowman. I took some of the agents' batons and used them as arms.

"What do you think?" I asked Bucky.

"I think you act like a child," he said.

"I meant about the snowman, not me," I grumbled.

"It looks amazing, sweetie," Natasha said, pulling out the USB. "Would you like a capri sun now?"

"Ha ha, very funny," I said. "But do you actually have any capri sun?"

Natasha ruffled my hair as she walked past, and I followed her out of the base. Iron Man landed next to us on our way out. We boarded the quinjet and Natasha went up to pilot. The other Shield agents had taken another quinjet, so we were safe to be ourselves.

"Bucky, who are you texting?" I asked.

I very damn well knew he was texting his boyfriend Steve, but I wanted to tease him about it. Especially since he beat me at Mario Kart yesterday.

"Just Steve," he said casually. "You know he likes to know that I'm safe."

I winked at him and when Natasha and my dad looked away, and he mimed snapping my neck. I mouthed 'can't wait' and blew a kiss at him.

I was the only person on the team who knew that Bucky and Steve were dating. When I found out it was a complete accident. I was in Bucky's room, planning on sticking really strong magnets around the place so that he would randomly be pulled in different directions, when he came back. I hid in his closet where I had a perfect vantage point of seeing Steve kiss Bucky. I'd jumped out of the closet and laughed it off, but I don't think Steve and Bucky really minded me knowing.

Once the quinjet landed at the tower, my dad took his suit off and clapped me on the shoulder.

"Wanna go get celebratory cheeseburgers?" he asked.

"Do you even need to ask?" I said.

My dad smiled at me.

"Let's go then, kiddo."

We went down to the garage and my dad let me drive one of his fancy sports cars. We went to the closest Burger King and got cheeseburgers at the drive through. This was a normal occurrence, seeing as my dad and I were severely addicted to cheeseburgers. I think the kid at the drive through window was new, because they nearly dropped our cheeseburgers when they saw my dad and I.

I drove us back to the tower, where we both went up to his penthouse. We sat at the counter and ate our cheeseburgers.

"Dad," I said quietly. My dad looked to me, still chewing on his burger. "When... when will we be able to tell people? About... me?"

My dad stilled before swallowing his mouthful.

"I don't know," he said truthfully. "I – I guess you can take care of yourself now, but... I don't know. I just have this – this fear, that you'll be taken from me again."

My dad and I had a relationship where we told each other everything. He would never admit to anyone else that he was scared – except maybe to Pepper.

"How about we give it half a year," I suggested. "I'm an Avenger, anyway. They'd come after me for that."

My dad nodded slowly.

"I'm sorry that I've been keeping you a secret for so long, kiddo," he said.

I shrugged.

"I get where you're coming from," I said. "But... I do want people to know that you're my dad, and that you're a great one."

"You're gonna make your old man cry," my dad said. "Come here."

He hugged me close, and I hugged him back.

"I love you, Y/n."

"I love you too, Dad."
