The Ice Began To Melt | Loki x Reader

All I felt was cold. The freezing, numbing cold. I was shaking, and that was all I knew. My eyes cracked open, and a clouded breath left my lips, staining the air with white. While the cold was not pleasant, the sight of the Earth in her snow-white gown was a beautiful one, despite it melting. The sunlight danced off the snow, casting glows and sparkles all around.

A shimmery green flash caught my eye, causing me to cast my gaze downwards to my hand. There was a ring on my finger. A familiar ring, but from where I could not place. The gem shimmered in the light, and I had the feeling that this ring held some sentimental value, some sort of promise.

Where was I? What had happened? I could only remember glimpses of a time before , a man with raven hair and a hidden face, stunningly green eyes, lots and lots of green...

All I could see now was white and blue. The white of the snow around me, the snow that was melting, and the blue of my fingertips as I shivered in the cold.

There was a time when the cold did not bother me, I was sure of it. I was sure that, during another time, I could walk through the ice and not be uncomfortable, where I would thrive in the cold. I could have sworn it was a time just before now, but I couldn't remember. I couldn't remember anything at all.

"There she is!"

I turned to face the voice behind me, slowly, as if the ice had restricted my movement. Five armed men came up to me, all holding guns and wearing all black, with masks covering their faces. They started grabbing me and pulling me away from my place in the melting snow. I had a feeling that they were bad people, that I knew them from somewhere, but I was too weak to fight back, so I allowed them to drag me through the melting snow, into the back of their van. There was nothing to warm me there, but I was tired. So, so tired.

And so in the back of the rattling van, I finally rested.

sooo this is really short but most of the chapters will be. I've been juggling writing this and like 3 other things so i don't have a ton of chapters ready, but bc this is short i'll upload the next one after proof reading <3
