"Morning M-Neko chan!" I huffed, seeing that I'm being woken up as Kou opened the curtains. He sensed this as he pecked my forehead lightly, checking up on me. "Can I sleep with you now?" He pouted, as I nodded, still not wanting to wake up. He cheered, hurrying to snuggle up with me as I moved up closer to him. "I couldn't sleep last night very well. It was scary not having you in my arms."

"Now you're being cheesy." I muttered, rolling my eyes as he looked at me in disbelief.

"I'm serious, just as I'm serious about you." He huffed, whining lightly. "There's things I risk losing... but not you two." I glanced up at him, frowning that I failed to notice dried tears from his face.

Why does he always try to put up a brave face around me?

"Don't cry anymore..." I said, feeling him tense up as I stroked his cheeks lightly. "I'm in your arms, where I belong, right?" I added, causing him to laugh a little.

"You know... I don't think I explained my love language to you." Kou started, moving closer towards me.

"Isn't it bite marks?" I teasingly said, but his expression remains the same, causing me to raise my eyebrows.

"I like anything that involves me touching you." He started, stroking my cheeks delicately. "You know how cold us vampires are, right?" I nodded, as I felt his fingers interlocking with mine. "Against your skin, you feel warm... like the morning sun of the blue sky. Hearing your heartbeat makes me feel alive." I softened my gaze, seeing him get all cosy up with me.

His behaviour made sense all of a sudden with his sudden attachment from time to time.

"Kou... let's stay like this for a while." I said, playing with the knots in his hair as he hummed in agreement. Except...

"Morning!" The door burst open as a child jumped on top of us. "Is mummy no longer mad at daddy?" Emi asked, seeing us two together. We looked at each other before nodding causing the boy to smile.

"Anyway get ready! School time." Kou said, getting out of bed as I frowned slightly. "Don't gimme that look."

"Don't gimme that look." I mocked him before also getting out of bed, starting to get both me and Emilio ready.

After breakfast, I heard a ping from my phone, as I raised my eyebrows.

'I'd be careful today if I was you ;)'

I bit my lip, unsure of what it was supposed to mean as I glanced at Kou and Emilio. Is something going to happen? Gulping slightly, I put my toast away, clearing my throat.

"Actually, shouldn't we skip school today?" I suggested, smiling lightly. Kou blinked in confusion as he shook his head.

"We're not doing this again." Kou sighed, walking over to me. "He's going to school. What's wrong with you?" I looked away, playing with my sleeves.

"I mean, we haven't spent time together for a while, so..." I started, trying to find excuses but Kou wasn't having it.

"We can do it on Saturday, it's the weekends." Kou pointed out as I let out an 'oh'. I frowned, seeing that my plan wasn't going to work since Kou can figure me out quickly.

"That's true..." I grumbled, nibbling my toast.

"Plus, I've got work." I looked up at him surprised, as he lifted my chin. "Speaking of work, when are you going to quit that maid job?" He grumbled as I looked away.

"It's giving me a roof over my head so I don't see the problem." I frowned, wiping the crumbs off my face. "I know this flat isn't a dream place but I can manage with it."

"For how much longer?" He asked as I paused. It's no lie I've already saved a load of money for me and Emi to move out, but I still have a long way to go.

"Not long..." I answered, sighing softly. Kou bit his lip, before nodding, smiling weakly.

"I'll contribute." He said as I looked at him surprised. "I basically live here, if you're paying rent then it's only fair that I contribute to buying a house." I smiled softly before hugging him tightly, as he laughed, hugging me back. "Besides... shouldn't you dress like that in front of me only?" He muttered. I raised my eyebrows, unable to hear what he said as he shook his head. "Nothing... how much longer are you going to call in sick?"

"I'll start working today if everyone is busy." I gave up, seeing that everyone would be occupied. As I was about to leave, Kou grabbed my arm, before pulling me back, catching me off guard.

"Don't think I didn't notice."

Honestly forgot {Y/N} had a job
