"Meet My Boyfriend"CH.40

Jisoo's POV.

*Monday*

I'm at the school canteen with my friends, waiting for my boyfriend to arrive. He said he would meet us here, so we're waiting. Earlier this year, I noticed Rosé seemed a bit gloomy, and even now, she hasn't brightened up. Did something happen to her? I wonder.

Minutes pass, and we're still waiting for him. My friends are chatting away when suddenly, I feel someone's hands cover my eyes. The chatter stops, and I hold the hands're big, like a man's.

"Guess who I am?" the man says. "Jin!?" I guess, recognizing the voice that sounds just like my boyfriend's. He removes his hands, and I look up at him. "You're right, babe, it's me," Jin says, smiling.

"Babe, it's really you?" I exclaim, standing up to give him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. He hugs me back and kisses my cheek too. "Yeah, babe, it's me," he says with a warm smile.

"Ahem!" I hear Seulgi say, and I glance at her, offering an apologetic smile. Oops, I forgot my friends were here! "Hey, guys," Jin says, smiling at them. They smile back, but when I look at Lisa and Rosé, their smiles aren't as bright. Even Jennie doesn't seem her usual self. What's going on with these three?

"Um, guys, this is my boyfriend, Jung Seok-jin," I say, smiling. My boyfriend smiles too and shakes their hands. "I've heard a lot about you from Jisoo," Jin says, grinning.

Rosé's POV.

When we saw a man covering Jisoo's eyes, we all stopped chatting. "Hmmm, they are really sweet," I said to myself. I wasn't in the mood to smile wildly at anyone today. I saw Jisoo looking so happy with him as they hugged and kissed in front of us. My eyes hurt, and even my heart felt numb.

Jisoo introduced us to her boyfriend with a big smile. I wished I could be him and make Jisoo smile like that, but I can't. Haha, I'm not him. When Jisoo introduced us to her boyfriend, we all smiled, but Lisa, Jennie, and I didn't smile as wildly as usual.

They knew how I felt. After a few minutes of introductions, Jisoo and her boyfriend said goodbye since they had lots to catch up on. We waved goodbye to them. "Hey, Chea, are you okay?" Lisa whispered to me, standing right beside me, while Jennie was on my left.

"Yeah, Rosé, are you okay?" Jennie whispered from my left. These two were really worried about me; I could see it in their eyes. "Umm, a little," I said with a small smile to reassure them I couldn't lie to these two and say I was fine—they knew everything about me. I was feeling a little better now.

With my best friends supporting me, I smiled in my mind. A few minutes later, the bell rang, so we went to our classroom. When we got there, our teacher hadn't arrived yet, so Lisa, Jennie, and I just chatted about what we were going to do this afternoon after practice.

I glanced at Seulgi and Irene, who were chatting happily. "Hey, guys!" I whispered to Lisa and Jennie. "Yeah?" they replied. "When did Seulgi and Irene get so close?" I asked, pointing in their direction. "We don't know either," Lisa said. "There's something about them!" I said. "Yeah, there is!" Jennie added. "What, really?" Lisa said, confused. I was confused too. "Yeah, there is!" Jennie insisted.

  "So what is it?" I asked her. "Okay, it's like this. When I was walking down the hallway, I saw them sneaking off to the rooftop together," Jennie said. "What? For real?" Lisa exclaimed. "Did you follow them?" I asked curiously. "Yeah, for real. I didn't follow them because I had to go to the library," Jennie explained.

"Ohh," Lisa and I said as we stopped talking since our teacher had arrived. Our teacher started the class, but hmm, Jisoo still wasn't here. Maybe they're having so much fun that they forgot the time.

The first class ended, and the second one was about to start, but our second subject teacher hadn't arrived yet. We just chatted again. A few minutes later, our teacher still didn't show up when suddenly we heard a loud bang at the door. It got everyone's attention. It was Jisoo, breathing heavily—she must have run here.

She came closer to our seats and drank from her water bottle. She didn't say anything yet, and we just stared at her. Our classmates also stopped staring when the second subject teacher finally arrived, and we all shifted our attention to the lesson.

"Okay class, I have an announcement. Listen up," our teacher said, and we all paid attention. "Our test is coming up, right? And so is our festival. So, we're going to start our test on Wednesday because we know everyone will be busy during the festival. We advanced the test to make sure we have time to prepare for the festival," our teacher explained. We were all shocked—the test is on Wednesday! Oh my gosh, I have to study hard for these next two days, and we don't even have time to practice because of the test!

Then our teacher said goodbye, mentioning they had a lot of test sheets to prepare. So, there wouldn't be any more classes today or even tomorrow. They told us to focus on getting ready for the test. "Hey, guys?" Lisa said, and we all looked at her, confused. "What if we do a group study at my apartment?" Lisa suggested excitedly. "Yeah, that's a great idea!" Irene agreed enthusiastically. "Yeah, I'll bring some snacks too," Seulgi added excitedly. "I'll bring some drinks," Jisoo chimed in with the same excitement.

"Yay! We're going to study together," Jennie said, echoing everyone's excitement.
