"Preparing" CH.47

Lisa's POV.

We're at school preparing for our school festival, and I'm really excited about it. But yesterday at Rosé's house, I was taken aback by the books in her small library. It has a lot of info about the Kim's background. And why was some of it private? There's something big going on.

"Lisa, come help me?" Jennie called me. I snapped out of my thoughts and went to help her. She's climbing the ladder to decorate the upper part of the stage. I'm holding the ladder tightly to make sure she doesn't fall.

A few minutes later, Jennie finished decorating the upper part of the stage. She climbed down slowly, but as she took another step, she fell off the ladder. Thank goodness I caught her in time. She's a bit heavy, and when I looked at her, her eyes were still closed.

"Hey, Jen, it's fine now. I've got you!" I said to Jennie, and she slowly opened her eyes. Just then, I saw Bambam running toward us. "Hey guys, what happened here?" Bambam asked Jennie and me, and soon our friends ran toward us too to see what was going on.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Jisoo asked as all our friends stared at Jennie and me. "And why are you holding Jennie bridal style?" Rosé asked, and our friends nodded at her question, glancing at Jennie and me. "Jennie fell off the ladder, and I caught her in my arms," I explained. Our friends smirked at us. What's with these guys? "Then why haven't you let go of Jennie yet?" Seulgi asked with a smirk. I don't know, but why are they smirking?

""Umm, I forgot!" I said as I slowly put Jennie down. When I did, she almost tripped, but thanks to my reflexes, I caught her just in time. "Hey, Jen, are you okay?" Irene asked worriedly. "Yeah, are you okay?" Rosé added, and all our friends had worried expressions on their faces. I was worried too. "Yeah, I'm fine, it's just that my ankle hurts a little," Jennie said. Jisoo then looked down at Jennie's ankle and took off her other shoe. "Guys, Jennie's ankle doesn't look good," Jisoo told us. We all looked at her ankle and saw it was red.

"Jen, you need to go to the school clinic to get it treated," Jisoo said, pointing at Jennie's ankle. All our friends nodded at her suggestion. "Okay," Jennie agreed. "I'll carry her," Bambam offered, and we all nodded again.

Minutes later, Jennie was at the school clinic, resting on the bed. It was just the two of us there since our friends had gone back to the gym to prepare for the festival. They told me to take care of Jennie, so here I am, sitting beside her bed while she sleeps.

I stared at Jennie sleeping; she looked so cute when she slept. I laughed in my mind but only smiled outwardly. She was so beautiful while asleep. It was already afternoon, and any minute now, school would end. I waited for our friends to arrive since Bambam said she was going to treat us to some ice cream today, and we were all going together.

I heard knocking on the clinic door, so I opened it, and there were my friends smiling at me. "Hey, is Jennie okay?" Rosé asked. "Yeah, she is," I replied. "Phew, thank goodness she's okay," Seulgi said in relief. "Yeah, me too," Irene added. "Okay, stop the drama, guys, and let's go see Jennie now," Jisoo said with a smile, and everyone nodded.

Author's POV.

*At the ice cream parlor*

"Thanks again, Bam, for the ice cream," Seulgi said, smiling at Bambam, who smiled back. "Hey guys, I asked Yeri to come here," Rosé said with a smile. Meanwhile, Jisoo's mood shifted, and Lisa and Jennie noticed it. They could tell what Jisoo was feeling just by looking into her eyes—sadness and jealousy were clearly visible.
