Nothing came.
A weight of some sorts came in a thud beside him.
Beomhyun slowly opened his eyes, only to see his attacker on the ground. Blood oozing out of the back of his head where a bullet was seeen, making a pool of blood.
The poor boy couldn't even scream as he only stared at the bloodied body beside him as he inched away from it, and questions began to surface.
Why did this (now dead) man called him an heir?
What did he mean by Beomhyun being a threat to all mafia's like his?
And what did he mean by Byun not knowing who he is yet?
"Beomhyun-ah!" a voice echoed, snapping the boy out of his trance.
And just as he was about to see his saviour's face. Beomhyun was immediately pulled into a tight hug that felt so much like how a worried parent would hug its child.
"Thank god," the voice says in utter relief. "I made it just in time."
Soon enough the hug was gone and the young boy was now facing a worried Choi Beomgyu.
"Are you alright? Did you get hurt? He didn't touch you or anything did he?" Beomgyu rambled, his worried eyes on him before frantically searching for any wounds present on the young boy's body.
Despite being all shaken up, Beomhyun shook his head. "N-No sir, I—I'm fine."
Beomgyu let out a sigh of relief. "Alright, can you stand—"
Footsteps were heard from the hall, Beomgyu quickly glanced at the left before facing Beomhyun.
"Stay here," he whispers softly to which Beomhyun replied with a silent nod.
Beomgyu got up and stood protectively in front of the young boy, gun in hand as he quickly spun around. Aiming his firearm at where the footsteps were heard.
"Halt or I'll shoot," he says in a demanding manner.
"You'll seriously do that to your handsome first-born nephew?!" a voice shrieked, it was Soojun.
Relieved, Beomgyu lowered his gun. "Why'd you come back kid?"
"I-I came back for Beomhyun, Uncle Gyu." Soojun stutters.
Beomgyu let out a hum before stepping aside, revealing a still shaken-up Beomhyun.
"Byun!" Soojun gasped, quickly rushing to the young boys' aid.
"You alright?!" he quickly asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Beomhyun says, shaking his head to get rid of his near death exprience.
"You don't sound fine though!"
"Take him outside Jun, he's a bit shaken up of what happened to him." Beomgyu orders calmly, glancing at Soojun and then back to Beomhyun.
The raven boy was about to ask what happened but when he saw the body lying on a pool of blood. He decided to not ask and gave his uncle a nod. Soojun quickly placed Beomhyun's hand around his neck before placing his left hand on the latter's waist to hoist him up.
"But what about you sir?" Beomhyun asked.
"Yeah, Seok-joon-hyung called an ambulance and the police. They should be here by now uncle," Soojun told him.
The gang leader shook his head. "I'll go back inside the ballroom, we still need to find out whose people had the guts to ambush us. Your dads and the others are safe don't worry, and tell that to the other kids too." Beomgyu explained, shoving his gun back into his holster.
